Yeah I dont think this changes that its not drug or alcohol related but i do think that its the first time there has been confirmation that he's leveraging the Player Assistance Program.
Mental health and other personal support is offered by the PAP, so doesnt change Trelivings first statement

Players don’t have amendments to their contractual responsibilities for long term without going through the Players Assistance Program. It was always a known that Kylington and the PAP were working together on this if you knew about the program.

Regardless Frank is a loser and had nothing to report.
We already heard from Treliving nothing has changed and that should have been good enough. This idiot didn't need to open his fat mouth.

Tree has addressed this on multiple occasions and has always stayed tight lipped. This has led to speculation but has given the player the upmost amount of privacy to which he fully deserves.
I know Frank is doing his job and whatnot but why comment. This is only going to force speculation and put additional pressure on management and Kylington.
Don't like it.

Tre was on the FAN 960; paraphrasing
a decision on Kylington playing this season would likely need to happen in the next several weeks so that, if he were to play, he needs time to get back in game shape
Start Kylington talk around 18:45 mark; main OK talk around 20:45

No one cares about your guys opinion on the reporting. You're mad that someone found out some basic relevant details that aren't disrespectful whatsoever?
We now know Kylington working out regularly, skating, staying in shape, getting assistance from the players assistance program, and that Flames do have a deadline of the next few weeks. All of that is new information and useful to find out so not sure why the hysterics and shooting the messenger.

Yeah, the PAP is pretty broad and Frank's comment is pretty vague. This doesn't tell us anything other than sparking people to speculate more.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Flames or Kylington release more information now to get in front of the speculation. It was pretty important to them that people know it wasn't related to substance issues. I mean, even if it is, they have every right to say it isn't to protect his privacy. It's really no one's business either way.
I just really hope he is coming back soon.

Have we forgotten about Nikita Kucherov and 2020/21 already? Why is there some belief that a player has to come back by a certain point in the season or it will be too late?

Everyone knew the Flames have a deadline, stating he's skating and staying in shape is to be expected of a professional and because the team still hopes he'll be back, and whether it's player assistance or from the Flames organization directly, I doubt any sane person thought he didn't have support, especially from the organization.
The only "news" was in the player assistance program which leads to baseless speculation and serves no purpose at all because it doesn't change any of the above known or easily assumed statements.

I think it would have to be a Kucherov situation if he’s not back soon. They probably want to make a decision for the regular season and lock it in. If he’s not back with enough runway they’ll likely spend to the cap and move him to LTIR before the trade deadline.

Guy with recent Art Ross Trophy(ies?) vs. a guy who has played exactly one full season as an established NHLer.
OK's skillset isn't ideal for this, but I don't see why he couldn't be a 7th/8th D-man heading into the playoffs if he isn't able to come back until March. It's probably hard to manage those expectations (and if he seizes a full-time slot so be it), but why not treat him as a free TDL acquisition?

Yeah, Flames getting him back is like trading for D depth at the deadline. The decision point will close at that time.

The reason I posted the tweet was because of the "He's skating" part, not to cause speculation. I personally was just happy to hear that he is training and things are not "he has not seen the ice in 4 months" bad.

The unfortunate reality is that whatever he is dealing with is going to become public knowledge at some point. The longer this goes on, the more likely information is leaked.

Isn’t Seravalli basically just repeating what Friedman mentioned on 32 Thoughts back in October?
Kylington in the program but per the Flames not substance related. So similar to Alex Texier of the Blue Jackets.
