To be fair to Markstrom it just wasn't that 2nd goal he gave up a terrible rebound he was shaky all game dropping pucks and giving up rebounds.
With our shot volume he would be a perfect goalie for us to play we would be hanging 5-6 on him nightly.

That's a lot of cap space we can use for scoring depth.

Yep. Pay half his salary and send him out. Let Vladar and Wolf take the reigns. Do something to change it up. I don't know. Maybe it takes the first 3/4 of the season to see where a team is. Maybe all 82 games.

Here are some positives:
- Duehr had a good game and seemed like a decent 4th line option
- Ruzicka had a good game he should be in the top 6, 72% on the dot and has one of the best shots on the team
- Backlund line was phenominal once again, can't ask for much more from them
- Hanifin was good

Or perhaps the players should take some of the blame. Kadri was terrible defensively for the last 25 minutes. Huberdeau can be much better. Did Lindholm play?

Hahahha. He would probably shut Calgary out.

The Blues are two points back of the Flames.
Blues: 21-18-3
Flames: 19-14-9
Blues have won 21, lost 21
Flames have won 19, lost 23
Flames missed Tanev for 9 games, and Huberdeau for 4 games this season.
Blues have been missing:
O’Reilly - 5 games and counting
Tarasenko - 8 games and counting
Bortuzzo - 10+ games and counting
Krug - 10+ games and counting
I’m picking the Blues over the Flames going forward.

Ruzicka is probably one of the most talented offensive players on the team, should be utilizing that

Not sure how anyone could watch this game and complain about Lucic
Markstrom cost them a point, there is really nothing to argue about here
Flames skaters played more than well enough to win a road game, their goalie cost them a point

That’s crazy talk. It’s Sutter stifling them.

if they had the cajones to actually run with vladar and wolf I bet the teams fortunes would turn on a dime
unfortunately the Calgary Flames are not that team
always setting sail for the promising shores of mediocrity, never deviating

Not how the standings work so pretty irrelevant

You’re being a little easy on the skaters IMO, especially the big money players, who were extremely passive once the game was tied. Agree with your point on Markstrom but against that lineup, they could have pushed a lot harder at 3-3.

Yes, D has had some pretty lame efforts at stopping that cross ice pass on 2 on 1's lately. Number 8 had a poor first period.

I don't see anyone blaming Lucic.
Looks like most people our goalie torpedoed our team.

In games decided in regulation:
Flames 16 wins 14 losses
Blues 14 wins 18 losses
and you forgot Kylington being out for 42+ games

I wonder how much those custom celebrity video messages cost? I think we should get Kris Versteeg to just say "Markstrom" and we can reuse the audio from his flyby on Brian Elliot in Philly a few years back. Have the DJ at the dome keymap it to a button on his controller.

I’m using as an indicator that the Flames will stop lucking out and picking up OTL points at a level that would tie an NHL record and just start losing in regulation more often, while the Blues winning rate will stay consistent.

Left Kylington off because the Blues have been missing Scandella for 42 games and counting.
