or another one- pretty sad that a Gilmour-Leeman trade Rushmore would be 4 guys that all went to Toronto

As others mentioned, Messier and Roy jump out.
Messier is 5th all time in pts for NYR; 14th in gp. If that era only has one slot, it's probably Leetch (Conn Smythe, most gp, 2nd most pts).
Rod Gilbert has most points and goals (only 406 goals though...gotta be lowest amongst original 6 teams)
Jean Ratelle. Andy Bathgate. Gump Worsley. Lundqvist. Richter. Alan Fox.
The tough thing with them is you have to go back to 1940 and earlier for their other championships, but there aren't even any standout names there.
It would probably be practical to do it from '67 on, in which case there should be at least 2 players from the '94 team...so the natural pick would be their regular season leading scorer: Sergei Zubov.
Gilbert and Ratelle both started in 1960, but I think you'd still have one of them:
Leetch
Lundqvist
Messier
Ratelle/Gilbert
If we do MTL since '67, I think Roy is probably there, though Carey Price may have an argument at this point...but they both might even make it:
Lafleur
Dryden
Roy
Price
Larry Robinson would probably have the strongest case, but he might bump Dryden since it doesn't make much sense to have 3 guys from the same decade.
As an aside, it's kinda crazy how good MTL's all-time goalie only Rushmore would be: Plante/Dryden/Roy/Price.

Blackhawks mount rush more?
T.Esposito
Bobby Hull
Dennis Savard
Toews
Kane
??
Probably missing some 1990s guys in there like Belfour or Chelios or Roenick. Even maybe a Steve Larmer.

I think people are letting the fact that Fleury is a loony d-bag cloud the fact that he was the face of our franchise for the better part of a decade. He had a hall-of-fame career, including a Stanley Cup, and an Olympic Gold medal- he'll just never see himself in the hall, cuz of his personality. Go watch Fleury highlights, he was probably the most exciting player we've ever had, and cranked it up in the playoffs.

Kane
Mikita
Hull
Denis Savard and Larmer's stat lines are surprisingly similar, but kinda pedestrian for playing the entire decade of the 80s. Both won cups with other teams.
Hall or Esposito should probably be the 4th slot, though they mirror the same timeframe as Hull/Mikita, and it's funny to have 3 guys from a team that won 1 cup in a 6 team league and only 1 from a team that won 3 cups in a 30 team league. Not sure either Keith/Toews jump off the page enough though.

Nobody really stands out from 1996...maybe Vanbiesbrouck (2nd in goalie gp/wins) or Mellanby (4th in goals, 5th in pts, 9th in gp).
Bure could easily be 4 or 5 in FLA...and maybe similar in VAN, where he is also 5th in goals (37th in gp). Most goals/pts in '94, both reg season and playoffs.
Sedin/Sedin (do you really need 2 identical heads?)
Linden
Naslund? Smyl? Bure? Luongo? McLean? Edler?
It's not inconceivable that both Bure and Luongo are on both FLA and VAN's.

Depending on the vintage of the Canucks fan Richard Brodeur would get some serious consideration.

Fleury was a young man in 20s suffering from severe trauma and pain of being serially raped over-150 times as a child without any hope of justice due to a culture of homophobia, victim-blaming and racial prejudices of the time.
While masking and numbing that pain through self-destructive actions, he gave this franchise everything he had through 11 seasons. He played with heart and passion. Even when he wasn't wearing the C, he was the face of the franchise and the leader on the ice. And he played the pivotal role in getting bums in the seats at a time when the franchise was in dire straits.
I was so proud to have him representing our team, even before I realized the duress he was under. Beyond the pain and trauma, he was indigenous and undersized. Within this context, his accomplishments are glorious and his story empowering. He was a role model to many and history of perseverance and overcoming hardships are a testament to his character and spirit.
In that context, who has sacrificed more of himself to this franchise than Fleury? No one. Literally no one.
Further, when he eventually got the help he needed, he dedicated a large part of his life to helping others with trauma and overcoming addictions within the Calgary and western Canada community, especially among indigenous Canadians.
He's an imperfect human with many flaws but also with inspiring accomplishments. He's on my Flames Mount Rushmore. Always.
