LOL. I was Fleury's biggest fan back then and while he won a gold, he was just another guy on the team, unlike Iginla, Sakic, Mario etc. He was Mike Peca level on that team.

What I'm doing is paraphrasing what your words come down to.

Oh, and I actually won a gold medal too. But I'm not on any monuments.

Except nothing I said could be paraphrased as referring to someone who doesn't vote for Fleury as "an idiot".

Someones vote being"ridiculous" = them being an idiot IMO.

Not Mt Rushmore material, but lots to be proud of.
GWG with a bit of an asterisk...tons of 3 on 3 OT goals
I bet some of the 80s guys could have scored a ton of those if given the chance

Very good player for a time though, sad injuries took their toll so early

GWG is a bit of a flawed stat, because rarely do you actually know a goal is going to be the GWG. and some are way more cluthc than others. The 4th goal in a 7-3 win is not really clutch, especially if it perhaps gave you a 4-0 lead at the time. OT goals, goals to create a tie, goals after being scored on, early goals are more important tot me.

And I'm saying your reading comprehension skills suck because I said him not being on there was ridiculous to me, I never said not voting for him was ridiculous. Your crafty lawyer tricks won't work on me.

That's literally the same thing ... or do I suffer from reading comprehension as well?

If the absence of something is ridiculous then it's certainly implied that those that vote in a way that creates the absence is ridiculous.

Well obviously you do. It isn't the same thing at all. If I believe something is ridiculous and you don't agree my opinion does not mean you have to feel the same way. You both are twisting what I wrote. If we had a poll on let's say the existence of aliens and I said it is ridiculous to think that there is no other life in the universe that doesn't mean that I am telling everyone else they have to vote there is, it doesn't mean I think they are idiots, to me the thought seems ridiculous. If I had wrote "anyone who doesn't vote for Fleury is being ridiculous or an idiot" that would be different. I mean you read my initial response which clearly had in my opinion in it and then got bent out of shape that I didn't include in my opinion. So yes, I am questioning your reading comprehension.

Or maybe, and hear me out here, you don’t consider carefully the connotation of what you are saying. And you are not using logic at all.

A: “Let’s vote for all time players”
B: “I’m not voting for player X for reasons. Therefore he’s not on the list for me”
C: “If Player X isn’t on the list, it’s ridiculous”

There’s really no way to interpret C as anything but “B’s opinion is ridiculous”.

You know who have ridiculous opinions? Idiots.

UTTERLY ridiculous. The UTTERLY is actually the damning thing here that in fact serves to undermine the supposition of "opinion":

ut·ter·ly
/ˈədərlē/
adverb
completely and without qualification; absolutely.

But while we're at it:

ri·dic·u·lous
/rəˈdikyələs/
adjective
deserving or inviting derision or mockery; absurd.

There is certainly more wiggle room for the word ridiculous to relate to one's own opinion, but when it's cross-bred with an UTTERLY it literally figuratively becomes verbal assault. In my opinion of course. But I'm just a small-town-word-lawyer.

Perhaps Textcritic can weigh in with a final and binding ruling?

You know who have ridiculous opinions? Idiots.
Or phony lawyers who have won gold medals in lawyering and prized internships but don't believe in the due process of the legal system or that someone is innocent until proven guilty while being exposed in past threads to have no grasp of the law? Ya, your opinion holds lots of water lol. What you wrote makes zero sense but feel free to call me an idiot, given the laughable stuff you post in here I am not offended.

So you want a mod to weigh in because I thought a player being left off a list is utterly ridiculous? Now that is ridiculous! Verbal assault? Lmfao! That is gold!

I would bet a million dollars if Bingo had said it would be utterly ridiculous to leave Iginla off and I accused him of telling posters how to vote the exact same posters would be attacking me for saying so. That is the funny thing about this, it doesn't matter what the subject is, it comes down to who the posters are. Think about that.

Hey now, I'm not the one who said:

Not having Fleury there would be completely and without qualification deserve derision and/or mockery, just because he has alternative views on things politically.
I don't think TextCritic is even a mod anymore? I simply wanted to summon his superhuman text criticism skills.

So now I’m a (a) phony lawyer who (b) doesn’t believe in due process and I’ve (c) been exposed as having no grasp of the law, who makes (d) zero sense (except to everyone here who agrees with me I guess).

My gold medal was in law school, not lawyering and I didn’t have an internship. I was a clerk with the SCC. If you want to dredge up past posts, get them right.

For someone who says he’s not offended you sure fly off the handle easily.

It's moments like this I wish I was a mod still so I can change Gio's user title to "Phony Bologna Lawyer".

I’ve requested a change but not to that. No one seems to want Tanev for PM.
