Good game. Good finish (good swede actually)!
But these boys ain't convincing me.
I'm not hating, I just want to see one more superstar on this team.
I am thus proposing, and willing it into existence so that Brad may hear my prayers, to get Meier or Karlsson from the Sharks.
Meier
RW, LHS, Age 26, $6 mil and RFA this season.
You want to keep your window open? Get younger, not older. Get faster, sharper physicality.
Karlsson
RD, RHS, AGE 32, $11.5 mil 5 years. Swedish.
You want to double down on your "spicy off season summer sale"? Hit big, go for a player who is hot and having a good season on a bad team.
Don't care what it takes. The Sharks are the only team in the bottom 12 that have game breaking players WHO also have not gone full rebuild. Take on one of THE worst contracts in the leauge and swing for the fences.
Dube
Pelletier/Zary/Coronato (pick two idk?)
Lucic
1st and some change?
Meier
Karlsson (Retain like a toonie and a loonie maybe)
You win with a top 6 or D pair like such.
Huberdeau - Kadri - Toffoli
Mangiapane - Lindholm - Meier
Hanifin - Anderson
Weegar - Tanev
Zadorov - Karlsson
Anyways thats my Ted Talk thank you for coming.

Yep, his contract is basically the Tkachuk special. I don't think any team should trade for him without out an extension in place.

Too bad too, he would be the perfect player for us if the Sharks were selling him off. Size (6'1", 220lbs), RW, plays with some power, can skate.

I'd gladly take Meier as a rental and then flip him if need be

Ignoring cap, Konecny is the guy I always come back to. He is fast, shoots right, plays RW, reasonable cap hit, is under contract for a little while, and for a slightly undersized player, plays a scrappy style. Rumours are his partner is from Calgary as well. It just makes a lot of sense on many levels.

For me, if Kylington is not coming back I want add 2nd pairing LD than RW. If we can get a good LD that can help reduce GA and can help stabilizate D group he will help more than 2nd or 3rd RW for us.
And I would trade Coronato and some salary dump for the LD. What is cost for Chychrun? Him and Tanev will be best pair for us. Coronato+Weegar+B prospect?

And for RW, Tarasenko would be my target. But I have no idea what Blues wants for him. I would trade Toffoli plus 2nd or 3rd and B prospect for him. I just don't want trade Zary, Pelletier or Wolf yet

huberdeau And karlsson's contracts on our books going forward? yikes
nice season but what will stop him from turning into a muffin again next year, especially given he is this far along in his career
and that doesn't include what may be required to clear the needed cap to make room for him
I prefer something much lower risk .. we don't need a household name, but a second line winger would put this team in better shape
why not bank on familiarity and swing for duclair out of Florida and give huby his trigger guy

Karlsson has never been good defensively, but at this point in his career, he'll cost you as many goals-against as he creates offensively.

Teresenko is a good player and a great shooter. Has 10 goals 18 assists so far. -11 as well. You'd trade Toffoli a known quantity who can kill penalties too boot and leads the Flames with 14 goals and is second in scoring with 28 points himself AND you'd throw in a pick???

We also need to bolster that depth, not ship Toffoli out.

Scoring Winger

Flames need to first look internally for scoring.
Magipange needs to do more.
The D needs to contribute more.

It’s not like they aren’t trying to. Lucic is being played as a top-six winger. There’s clearly a gap in the roster.

Yes I would, Toffoli is good and has a good cap so he has a value. But for me he is not connecting well with our players well. A little bit slow and can't create offense himself. And not much impact maker.
Imagine Hub-Lindholm-Tarasenko line.

28 points in 35 games
Toffoli has been excellent this season. Don’t know why some fans are down on him

He is literally leading the team in goal scoring but he "doesnt connect well with our players"?
Nevermind he is 3M a year less in cap hit.
Strange comment.

Also watch him without the puck. For a guy with poor speed he certainly dogs puck carriers very well, which is right in Sutter’s playbook.
