The UK English, schedule and router pronunciations always throw me for a turn.

The first time I heard it working at a hotel front desk, I was like, "We'll what someone to look at the rooter?"
In hindsight, the dude might have been messing with me for schedule, but I do recall he'd be in other conversations and he'd call the router the computer "rooter".

It kind of makes sense, given how route is pronounced.

lose/loose and worse/worst. I'm stunned at the level of people that don't know the difference between worse and worst, too. It's crazy.

It also makes my eye twitch when I see 'bias' used instead of 'biased'.

"Yeah, well you're just bias."

It’s not even from a perspective of “why do other people care about that.” I saw Top Gun and thought it was really good and saw how much money it made and thought “Wow, glad it made that much money” but… why? That feels like a dumb thing to think in retrospect. Why did I care at all that it made a bunch of money. I guess if you really want a sequel you’d care about it making enough to encourage a sequel, but beyond that?

You might be confusing discussion with weight of importance. It's a fun nothing to talk about. People talk about someone hitting a bunch of home runs too, it's essentially the same thing.

then/than seem to have become interchangeable now as well. It's mind boggling when someone writes an otherwise intelligent post and caps it off with one of those. And yes, its mind boggling, not mind bottling, but I am sure that has been discussed here before hahah.

Those aren't even the worst. We can giggle at shark cootchie for charcuterie and whatnot, but would off for would've is the one that truly annoys me.

Mind bottling I think is at least based on a movie meme.

Home runs are different, as they are directly correlated with the quality of the player and have a direct effect on game outcomes.

If I’m reading someone’s post and come to an incorrect then/then I just stop reading and skip to the next.

Is Johnny going to resign? No I don’t think he's going to forego all that money.

Though I think on this board it's just pure laziness or auto complete.

Yeah, that one sucks because it's an antonym.

Role and roll.

He's on a role!
He's gotta figure out his roll or no one is getting anywhere.

... and then the poster defends the usage. When questioned if it's the other word.

His role is sniper, so he's on a role.
You gotta roll to get somewhere. So he has to figure out the roll.

To me, it shows that people are still interesting in seeing big, fun movies in theater - and box office numbers are a reflection of that. Especially at a time where in person viewing in theater is way down. With countless streaming services available and endless content, I still enjoy going to see big movies in theater. If box office numbers consistently fall, we'll see less and less of these awesome movies with theatrical releases and more of them will get thrown into the streaming pot.

It is from a movie, but it's just been too many years to the point where it's just annoying to read at this point.
