This team sucks and isn't good enough to hang with top teams and can hardly beat the bums.
then why do we beat top teams? we get sucked into playing the crappy terms game. They have done this for years.

Bj's just lost didn't they? they were very motivated tonight and our D obviously wasn't ready, it was the 2 breakdowns leading to odd man rushes and string of bad penalties late that cost the game.

It’s too early to judge but honestly even if they’re both duds for the full 8 years, it doesn’t matter. It was a good trade period.

They were known quantities and successful players with pedigree. If they don’t perform, that’s on the players, not on the GM for making a “bad trade”. Not unless Tre has a crystal ball and can see the future. In which case I do blame him. But I’m pretty sure he doesn’t.

Excellent point

You can't even make these things up. Leads the team in goals, "This guy sucks!"

Forget the wins and losses, Flames absolutely rolled over tonight. Pretty hard to watch that and feel good about winning 5 of 7.

Can’t really think of any excuses for this one. Got goalied? Nope. Trap game of some sort? Don’t think so. Injuries? No.

The big money players did not show up. It’s happened a few times this season.

Well there is a question of style. If your coach is Sutter and you’ve bought in to playing that style why do you trade for 2 players who are known for playing wide open hockey where you give up chances to get them? It’s a pure stylistic clash and I question Trev thinking the two players were a good fit for a Sutter team. Sure they’re still good players and can make good plays but they’ll never reproduce their old numbers trying to play safe.

Team has lost 14 of their 27 games this season. It has happened in most games.

Of the 4th line, Lewis killed penalty well. Big Mario play well considering he is the fresh call up and did not have any practice. He almost score in the hard drive to the net. He helped screen the goalie for the bomb from Stone. What did Lucic do? I don't remember.

Sub out the 166th pick of the 2015 draft. Sub in the 166th pick of the 2016 draft.

Mangiapane gave up on a puck today beside their crease, 4 feet away. Then toddled to the bench to check his stock options probably.

Man has mailed it in. One undersized forward out, Phillips in. At least you know he’ll give you effort. And probably an uptick in defensive play.

I was responding to being called out about my strength of schedule argument...it's been going exactly how I said it would not defending the Flames effort tonight.

Flames won't beat every bad team...they also won't lose to every good one.

It's like Johnny talked the team into taking the night off so he wins on home ice in front of the new fans.

Zohorna played 6:35, had a memorable rush chance and went straight to the front of the net for the Flames goal. Lucic played 5:02 and floated around doing nothing. He's done nothing all year except injure Fehevary. Not even a fight.

But Matthew Phillips has a size issue. Great kid, don't get me wrong. Good compete level. Good set of skills. But size. I have an idea! Let's see what Lucic can do next game!

Hate to say it, but this does not look like a playoff team. Amazing how the team went from playing a dynamic fast-paced high-pressure game to a staple-their-ass-to-the-boards team and play like molasses in January.
