Francis on 960 saying it's not going to happen for this guy under Darryl Sutter. I think he's right.

If it doesn't happen as a result of Sutter, I will lose a lot of respect for him. It destabilizes the whole culture of development.

Hopefully Sutter hears Francis and does it just to spite him. But yeah Sutter and Trev with how they’re handling the minor league call ups and auditions now are doing damage to the organization and it’s rep for player development.

Let’s say he was 30 games, 25 goals 25 assists.
Nope too small!

Nothing Darryl likes more than making Francis look like an idiot.
Smart move, Eric. The old reverse psychology.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Going back to the "we'll make room for you" comment that Tre says. Its kind of funny that there is room cap wise, there is room roster wise, and this guy is literally the smallest person they could call up who takes up the least amount of space. There is room in every conceivable way for this guy.
And yet...

Maybe Sutter's obtuse line combinations, refusal to call up the best player in the NHL, and insitance upon dump and chase is all a 4d chess play to make the team a true underdog?
I'm almost out of optimism though. The last few games have been an absolute challenge to watch. I got to watch a game, mid afternoon, drunk, on MY BIRTHDAY, and I loathed it. That was not a cool experience lol.

If Phillips does not get a fair shot by the end of the year, it will be a massive organizational failure. I am not sure what the Flames were expecting when they drafted him, if even him being one of the best in the AHL is not enough to get called up. I bet he gets at least an 5-8 game audition, but I hope that will be around the 1/3 season mark and not in the last 5 games of the season.

That's what I was thinking. Since Francis said it's not going to happen, it's likely going to happen.
