There is no need to panic - go with Vladar for now and have Markstrom earn back his No. 1 spot.

Thing is, Vladar hadn't been that great up until his last two starts. He has been in net two of the last three so maybe we do start seeing him more if he keeps it up.

Vladar just needed games to get going . he was put in a couple of the teams worst games early too , hurt his stats which were bound to improve with more playing time
Markstrom has shown no upward trend whatsoever despite having the lions share of starts

Dude. He's a goalie. Its hard to excel when you only play a handful of games and almost never in a run.
I always remember that quote from Engelland (defenceman) but he was saying that playing 5-7 minutes a night, you're not in the game. He looked terrible, but when his minutes tripled he was fantastic.
Goalies are not Yo-Yos. You cant just yank and throw, there has to be rhythm.

Yeah well life is an endless series of incrementally increasing disappointments and the sooner you accept that the better off you'll be.
You probably didnt want Brexit, Boris Johnson, COVID, the War in Ukraine, high fuel prices and inflation making housing and food critically expensive, but here we are, aren't we?
This wonderful spinning orb doesnt care what we want.
Its like the nonsense that people spout about 'Climate Change!'
Oh, its going to destroy the planet!!
Naw son. The planet is going to be just fine. The idiots who live on it are in for a rough time though.

Sutter has said that Markstrom is paid to play 3500-3800 minutes a season that amounts to 58-63 games a season if you don't factor in overtime.

what a terrible excuse to burn him out , which they are fully on track to doing again .. except he's not even playing up to a starter level this time

your first existential crisis?
I go through about one of these a month lol
every time reinforces my resolve to bury my head in the sand and just enjoy my time here while I am here
there will always be "big world " problems that we have no control over . it's a waste of time to pour energy into dissecting it , fighting it , or trying to solve it
have fun , pet a dog , climb a mountain, eat a good meal
only 0.001 percent of people make a real difference in the world and you or I probably won't be one of them , so just worry about the small stuff like your family and friends and passions
f the rest

Stand outside the rain to know what real struggle is like, that kind of thing?
Off topic, but I’m fascinated by this put on space-before-punctuation and no caps style you’ve put on by the way. Both less keystrokes and more. Very interesting.

If Sutter keeps his one game a week plan for Vladar that would make it 56 starts for Markstrom. So 7 less games than last season.
