It’s painful watch the Flames offensive offence.

Zero imagination. No one who looks remotely dangerous.

It’s essentially a second line, two third lines and a fourth line. We don’t have a legitimate NHL first line.

Our powerplay is brutal as well.

Too bad because defensively and effortwise they are quite good. But if the other team gets 3 goals it’s pretty much over.

D Sutter is being outcoached badly every game now.

You got to smoke something pretty strong if you think you can win a playoff with Markstrom the way he is now.

Yikes, glad I missed this one. Afternoon games always seem to go terribly for the Flames.

this is not the strategy to build a successful franchise

There’s more than that to fix.

My Winsport mens team has more offensive horsepower and imagination than the Flames.

Most of the forwards on this team must have made it this far in hockey on checking ability because they don’t appear to have any other skills.

Well when you ask every forward to play the same style and be defensively responsible and forecheck and such well some players will do it better than others. I’ve seen enough comments from around the league about the flames perimeter style and all. Same with throwing volume at the net. Which might work in a 3-2 league with top goaltending but I’m not sure the league is a 3-2 league and I don’t think we have top goaltending.

I'd imagine there are stats that corroborate that this is a terrible strategy.

Sutter did it once so it clearly works. I know we have a lot of faith in him given his prior record, but past results don’t necessarily predict future results with different players in a different league.

Nuke them from space. It’s the only way to be sure.

The Flames also have two players scoring at a higher pace than Milano. It is not like he would be out leading scorer.

I think our top scorer is somewhere around 90th in league scoring.

That defines red flag.

This is exactly it.
Some guys just don’t fit a coaches style of play, it was very clear that Milano wouldn’t and didn’t.

This is the same coach who refuses to call up any of our young offensive minded forwards, same guy who gives guys like Lucic and Lewis seemingly endless leashes because “they know how to play the right way”.

This is Sutter hockey, same reason Huberdeau is struggling, Darryl’s systems are very different and defensively focused, so a huge change for most guys.

He needs to stop the 4 line rotation and let the guys we paid big money to get do what they do and play top 6 minutes. No more experiments and 4th line playing 12-14 minutes a night.

It’s clearly not working and our offensive guys can’t even get anything going… it’s a bit odd that not a single one looks good.

Our lines are not working, fix them and let’s get some new blood up to help the offense.

No it doesn’t clearly work, it’s happened once ever. If you’re betting on it happening again this year, the odds are slim

Really, how many games do you give Markstrom while he continues to post an .889 save percentage and goals against average above 3.03 which is good for 34th and 48th respectively?

Just finished watching the game. Flames are just a bad team. They'll hang in there this year due to the crappy division but the forwards suck, defence sucks and markstrom sucks.

I'm already done with huberdeau. He's not all that great and definitely not worth the deal he got now let alone years from now.

I'm back on the rebuild train. I can't even squint to see a true contender here....

The Ducks have one regulation win and didn't qualify Milano. Guy couldn't get a contract so the Flames gave him a PTO.

The entire league passed on him until the caps had injuries when the signed him and waived him to the AHL

He isn't the one that got away

If Markstrom had a .920 like last season the Flames would be a top team...bad game today but some massive over reactions in here
