Of course David should have taken it.
Of course I understand why Davies did.
What a great half up front. Unreal

Martinez is gonna move KDB to 6. The Belgians haven’t been able to move the ball thru Tielmans, and Dendocker. The Canadian high press was working, but lapsed and gave them time for the over the top thru ball goal.

Canada needs to maintain that high press and then stick a marker on KDB.

Glad they pointed out how long Davies stood over the ball before that penalty. He should have re-traced his steps to reset. Lots of pressure built up over that 65 seconds.

The American coverage is livid that Canada didn't get a penalty on the offside that was called wrong.

I thought that Laryea run wasn’t a penalty, but you can definitely see the step on the foot in the replay.

When they are attacking, they have created but they are a mess defending, luckily, they haven't had to defend much.

Poor penalty by Davies.

Wasted a lot of chances to score, any finishing ability and this thing is 3-0 before Belgium even scores.

I'd take Laryea off, put Buchanan on that wing and let Larin have some minutes

I'm very pleasantly surprised by the strong Canadian performance tbh. Thought they would just sit back. They don't look out of place at all on the big stage. As I expected though, the defence is very suspect.

Adjustments coming from Belgium. Get it past or over our high press and let our defenders try and deal with it.
Forwards and mid mid probably have 30 mins before exhausted at the pace they were at, so need to get one sooner than later.

This is where Canada suffers. Lack of quality depth.

If I’m Canada I do think about changing tactics a little.

Belgium started to sit back a bit more playing a line closer to their own goal to deal with Canada’s pace. I do think that they will start to play more balls over the top which is a risk for us if we continue to press.

Maybe play a little deeper in the second half, invite their back line up the field a bit more and try to hit on the counter instead.

Need to get Larin on the field here too...he tends to come up big for Canada in moments like these.

Davies looking whelmed, trying to be a hero, and physically looks like he's trying to shake a nagging injury.

Estaquio and Laryea are doing fantastic - great pace and control today.
