Ruzicka looking so good these last two games just shows how different it is to get minutes with guys like Lindy and Toffoli instead of Lucic and Ritchie on the 4th line.
Playing with confidence and offensive flair he hasn’t shown at his time in the NHL previously. Engaged and working hard too.
Honestly think guys like Phillips, Pelletier, Zary, and maybe Schwindt could show the same if given a top 9 role with good line mates in the future.

Nice backhand into the slot from Ruz. He was always known for that as a junior, the sweet and deceptive backhand passes.

Gotta love the evolution of Ruzicka as well

I was thinking about that as well, he is quite a bit sharper, faster, and stronger now.
That said, I had the misfortune of listening to Boomer's Barn Burner this morning, and they were just saying that Lindholm was pouting for not having his buddies back. They also mentioned that Sutter sending a message to Huberdeau and that they really need to figure things out, and essentially mocked the lines all episode. Hope they enjoy eating crow tomorrow.

I literally just tuned in about 5 mins before the 3rd LA goal, which is why I'm asking about icetime. Like, did something happen, or are Backlund and Ruzicka just playing that much better than everyone else?

Los Angeles does not look good in this game. I've watched a few of their other games this year and they've played a lot better than this. Good that the Flames are taking advantage.

Ruzicka needs to be 1st star. He's having a phenomenal game.

Not really. All the forwards are playing pretty well.

I think it's sutter, why play big minutes in a 6-3 game, I think it's a good idea, prevent injuries

What a brutal and lazy take. I could see some random poster saying something like that, but those guys have to hold themselves to a higher standard.

Weird. Why would he pout over his buddies choosing to play elsewhere?

I was just saying this to a friend. I hate how we always try to develop players using the 4th line. If you give Phillips a chance he needs to be on the top 2 lines or he's not going to be useful. Ruzicka isn't a fourth line type of player so of course he's not going to be great in that role.

I just thought that PP2 had more ice-time than PP1 this game, and they were both on it. Sutter has been rolling 4 lines, and all lines have been playing well. I'm not sure why there's a difference in TOI.
