lol. too much brew tonight? Never said a word about his wife. Laughing at him choosing a loser team is obsessing. sure!

I still think he was the one that did us a favor.
We were never going to win paying him 10.5/year for 8 years.
Thanks for the memories John, we have moved on too.

No you said nothing about his wife in that post. Countless others like to talk about it and I have a feeling you’ve been among them. Just a hunch.
You seem very interested in how far away he lives from his parents though.

If you think we're worse off without Johnny, I can understand some irrationality... but in pretty much every way the Flames are a better team now.
Obsessing over Gaudreau now seems pretty immature.

comes to former player thread...angry people are discussing former player
They guy said Nah to 10.5x8 from the Flames after they drafted (when nobody else wanted to give him a chance) and developed him. Went from a division winner to a basement dweller for less money in the process. You bet your ass it will be discussed for years to come.

Well, I didn't use the word 'discussing', so I'm not sure what you're on about. Quite a chasm between having some mirth about Johnny's predicament and, yes, literally obsessing over details in his personal life. Come on.
And again on your second point, of course it can be discussed. But I'd hope it can be done in better taste.

There may possibly be a happy medium between not discussing a former player as if they ceased to exist and obsessing over their domestic situation.

First marriages?
Just give them time and filter out all the ones bound by hard core religion
People married two weeks ago are still married but probably won't be in 20 years
It's an evolving trend

He wanted to stay, she wanted to stay
Weird how it still didn't happen
Was his mom the final say so?

Panthers: 5-3-1, 3rd in the Atlantic
Monahan: 2G, 4A, 6P - 3rd on Canadiens in scoring

Losing to Columbus for less money and not being super close to home was a weird choice.
I really enjoy seeing the Jackets be no good and hopefully they bury themselves early only to go on a late run to draft 12th overall.
|
100%, had he signed in Philly or Jersey I'd have had no issues. Especially the Devils who are a young, up and coming team. But Columbus? That just felt like a kick in the nuts. They finished 30 points behind the Flames, and it's not like Columbus is some tropical paradise.
Go home to Philly or Jersey? No ill will. But Columbus? Yeah, go #### yourself.
Kind of says it all about him and his commitment to winning though, doesn't it?

I like how this thread suddenly morphed into the Gaudreau to Columbus thread

so is this season showing that lindholm was the weakest member of that top line ? or at least the most "complementary" player? or do people just see it as lindy is having a slow start

Or the Flames have played 7 games with the hardest strength of schedule in the NHL (and its not even close)
Points also aren't everything...Panthers haven't beaten a team that made the playoffs last season and well Columbus has lost 7 games already. Those guys outscored Lindholm by a lot last year too but I would say their contribution to wins overall was pretty even.
Gaudreau is a minus player after having the best plus minus in 20 years last season

Correct -- Valimaki and Christian Fischer are both +2, everyone else on the team is either 0 or a negative (Gostisbehere is last with a -9).
It's obviously not a perfect stat but it's still worth mentioning...
