It looks like post-Sutter Johnny is the same as pre-Sutter Johnny.

Guy was right when he said that Sutter was the perfect coach for him.

Same thing he did on McDavids goal in the playoffs. Was in position to check or shadow Draisatl and then just went up ice trying for the outlet pass that never came.

Trippy.com gives the driving time as 7 hours, 43 minutes, nonstop.

It's an Airdrie to Downtown kind of thing.

Johnny is only good defensively by controlling the puck. Put him off puck and he’s hopeless. He’s not going to check someone off the puck or strip a player. Sutter put him in a spot where they could just control the puck and have amazing defensive numbers despite not being good defensively. Then he goes to a system without that structure or Lindholm there to back him up and yeah his warts show a bit more now. Anyway I think Tkachuk can do well and is doing mostly fine. I don’t know if that team will ever do much because they’ve traded so many futures. But Johnny I can confidently say is doomed to years of obscure 90 point seasons. Maybe he’s the new Marcel Dionne.

7 hour walk from Airdrie to dt, still takes longer to drive from Columbus to Salem NJ.

A wintry Wednesday at 7am with lots of construction on Deerfoot, it can seem like 7 hours from Airdrie into downtown.

Not if you talk to people who live in Airdrie. It's only a 15 min drive and 45 min walk to downtown. lol

They see CrossIron Mills and think they've already arrived.

Last year if Johnny got stripped of the puck he would have skated like a madman to get back.

Maybe it was at the end of his shift but the difference is telling…

A lot of dumping on former players lately.

I honestly think that play was about staying with his man (the point man), and with that Draisaitl just found a seam between defenders (which is all of their fault, not just one player)

That back check by Johnny was pathetic. Sad to see.
