What a start to the season, I think notice has been served to the league that the Flames are still here... and maybe even better than last year.

In their defence, I suspect their defence may be suspect.

I don't think 9 of the first 10 at home is good for ticket sales
Personally can't make it to that many in a short period as much as I would like to

GT is hilarious...Flames trail for basically the first time this season and the usual suspects come out of the woodwork
then return to their holes 20 mins later

I agree with this as all lines are clicking except the top line (at 5v5). They aren’t bad on the possession front but things still don’t seem too smooth out there in the offensive zone, outside of Huberdeau’s incredible passes.
I like keeping him with Lindholm but a different look to round out the line could really solidify things.
The 2nd line has been our best line and the 4th has had a lot of effective shifts. Backlund and Coleman are like the old days with Frolik where you can play them with anyone. Toffoli is responsible defensively so would fit right in while adding some more offensive pop to the line.
Huberdeau-Lindholm-
Mangiapane-Kadri-Dube
Coleman-Backlund-Toffoli
Lucic-Rooney-Ritchie

I think the first line was showing encouraging signs at 5 on 5 this game, but if they can find a player to push toffoli down to the third line, that would make this the strongest flames roster in a very long time

Those aren't Flames fans. They are coiler trolls pretending. It's their one outlet in life.
Here is a pic of one of them.

That didn’t occur to me. He played really well. Because the Flames won I’m happy for him. Now he can go lose elsewhere too.

Solid win! Never really felt the team was out of it, even down 2-0 and a goal pulled back. The team kept pushing. Great to see.
Fantastic performance by the Vegas homeboy goalie. Some incredible highlight real saves.
3/3 on the season. God bless Sutter hockey.

Didn't mean to confuse anyone, I went into more detail at the bottom of page 4, and jayswin clarified it too on page 5.

Great games by Ritchie, Lucic and Backlund.
Backlund with the game winning goal, 3 hits, 3 takeaways and was 88% on faceoffs.
You can just tell Huberdeau is going to go off real soon.
Team rolling along!

There’s such a big difference in this team vs. say…Gulutzan’s Flames.
If Elliott let in an early weak one the team would totally deflate, and the game was over.
Marky let one in last night, and the team just didn’t stop. The effort is relentless. Even after the 2nd goal against, the team just kept working.
These have been some well earned W’s to start the season. Awesome start!

Good game, 1st line however continues to have no chemistry with respect to 5 on 5.
I was not surprised to see the Lindholm and Kadri switch lines in the 3rd.
Backlund line had a solid game,
Flames starter had a sub par game,

Great to see backlund playing so well to start the year as well. He’s typically a slow-starter and he doesn’t reach his best form till the end of the season. Having Lindholm/Kadri/backlund as the top three centres is such a boost for this team. There may be teams with more offensive depth up the middle in the league… but there is no other team in the league with that kind of “200-foot player” depth a center in the league. Makes it so difficult for opposing teams to match lines and get their skilled guys away from an opposing centre man that excels at shutting guys down.

You know how people talk of teams with grit and heart? The type of team you can never count as being out of a game, no matter what the adversity?
Well the Canucks are the polar opposite of that team.

I don't believe that's the reason though why Lindholm and Kadri swapped spots in the 3rd. Sutter did that because Lindholm had just been on the penalty kill.

Well.. Sutter confirmed in his presser this wasn't really a choice. It was just how the lines ended up because of PP/PK etc. I wouldn't expect any change to the lines when things are rolling well, especially to that 2nd line.
