Absolutely. Colorado/Quebec one was awesome. I love about ten and really like about another 12.

The Flames missed a "Golden" opportunity to mark their 50th Anniversary by having a retro jersey with the 1972 Atlanta striping and logo.

Could have made the gold a metallic gold even.

More I look at it the more I kinda like it. Only thing they shoulda considered is using the red C.

But overall not bad.

Yes, and ironically the jersey design for the current red and whites were designed in Atlanta.

I don't mind the idea of going to the pedestal but I think what I would have done is a red pedestal with no black (i.e. pedestal with the current colour scheme). But that's if you had to do pedestal. I would have definitely gone back to Atlanta given it's the franchise's 50th season. A real missed opportunity there.

Meh, Atlanta would have been boring. It would work if the retros weren't our current home jersey. On TV it would look virtually the same unless you're focusing in on the logo.

I’m sorry, but I’m not about to cheer for a team from Calgary wearing a giant A on their jersey. Atlanta is a nice footnote in history, that’s about it

Would like to see a Pedestal/2004 Hybrid concept ... I think something like that could have potential .

Calgary should play Wpg in the Omni in “A” Flames and Thrashers jerseys respectively.

It would be a “thank you” to the few thousand fans who donated half the NHL hockey played in Western Canada.

It would look different if you went with the 1972s. That striping is different enough that it would be noticeable. You could also shake it up (in Reverse Retro tradition), for example what if you did a 2004 Flames red jersey but had a black fiery A on the front?

The whole point of this exercise is to have fun with it. They are one off jerseys - make them ugly, make them tacky, who cares, it's a novelty! It's cool to see a weird-ass jersey being worn in a game.

Yeah that's my view

Reverse - have to change it
Retro - has to be from the past

They started with the Blasty (which honestly wasn't all that reversed), this time they go to the pedestal era which most don't like, and changed it.

A pedestal jersey that is mucked with was never going to be the nicest jersey in team history.

I won't buy it, but it will fun and interesting for limited viewings.

I agree to have fun with it, but there's ugly in a good way and there's just ugly.

They should honestly do an “ugly jersey” theme where all the teams take big swings with bold designs.

Speaking of anniversaries, 2024 will be 100 years since the Calgary Tigers played for the Stanley Cup. Would be nice to see a proper version and not the Ronald McDonald version. Please Ken King...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, but these retro jerseys with atrocious lines are just lazy ways of bringing nostalgia. Teams in every sport have to leap into a new era with some creativity instead of going for the cheap cash grab. Terrible.

Predictions, apparently with someone in the know:

Liking the fact that both the Devils and Avs go for the Rockies color theme. San Jose looks sharp too.
