Warrener doesn’t need to try to be different. He is different. He was the guy calling for the team to cash in and trade Gio when he was at his peak. As a guy who got to the finals 3 times and never won, he has a unique perspective on things which I appreciate although I don’t always agree with it.
he just doesn't come off as a fan of the team at all . and there is both good and bad to that but agree that tearing down would be doing a disservice to the great players they had worked to acquire in their primes for the purpose if competing . Rhett is a cool cat I guess but he's not the brightest one . tearing down and selling off can't be the response every time something doesn't go the teams way . it's a fair take to have but also kind of a lazy one
flames are trying to run a successful business in a hockey market after all
the ones I get up for are seravelli and friedman . obviously barnburner isn't going to be pulling those guys so hopefully they can make up for it in other ways
Lucky for you Seravelli is a guest today for them!

a little disappointed to see that hailey salvian is hosting this afternoon show instead of sandra prusina; however, that being said, i generally enjoyed reading salvian on the athletic.
both women are more than capable for the job, i have just grown more comfortable with sandra

I listened to Hailey when she was on the Athletic podcasts and she was good. This is a different role for her though, where she is the primary host and driver of the show. I listened this afternoon and I think she's still adjusting to that but as she becomes comfortable she will settle into the role. She's got a natural ease to it and has a quirky sense of humor.

Warrener isn’t a fan, he’s an alumnus. He was 0/3 in the finals. He wants to see the team win it all, and he knows how hard it is to do that without a top-3 pick.
Usually, they don’t trade you those for Matt Tkachuk, but this year, they did.
Now, Calgary has four top-10 picks on the roster - Huberdeau (3) Lindholm (5) Kadri (7) Hanifin (5).
Compare that to the 2012 Kings, who only had one - Kopitar/Carter (11), Richards (24) Doughty (2) Brown (13).
Now, LA did have 3rd overall pick Jack Johnson (drafted by Carolina, traded for Jeff Carter) and 5th overall pick Brayden Schenn (traded for Mike Richards).
I don’t even know where I’m going with this anymore, other than “#### does it feel good when the team matters”.
That was so ridiculous. His answer to a playful $55 for 2 burgers and 2 sodas question at Katzylvania is "Flames need to get a new arena"...k bud
He's right though. Food and drinks will be more expensive in the new arena. I'll give Bob a little credit in that he's a major homer but unlike the rest of Edmonton media he does show the Flames a lot of respect.

They don't have to be though. Look at what the Falcons have done with their new stadium.

Being a Flames fan, you're doing it wrong.

Yeah I was going to university up there when he was doing the Team 1260 morning show (or drive home show, I forget which part of my commute it was), I've heard him defend the Flames against random callers claiming the Langkow/Huselius era Flames were just a bunch of grinders back then. Agreed he was a rare Edmonton media member able to view the Flames without blue BoA blinders. That said, his answer this morning sounded pretty defensive. Gave some super long answer to what was a playful, end of interview style question, it was a bit of an eye roller.
