I wonder if the side-profile Blasty was just a file sitting on some designer's hard drive, leftover from the Reverse Retro project.

Given the tight turnaround, I suspect it might.

Ugly IS ugly, so don't brush aside how poorly designed these jerseys are with your depth of AHL knowledge.

I’m split on this. I’m big into teams having an identity linked to their main colour scheme. I like having it at home and as the main jersey choice for fans. But I do love the whites.

Also, they should do plain red pants and stripeless red socks for a retro game, to give the illusion of the 80s Wranglers Cooperalls.

I'd love to see the original 6 teams take turns wearing their dark jerseys on the road when going through their annual Western Canada road trips. Could be as simple as:

2022-23 Habs & Leafs
2023-24 Rangers & Bruins
2024-25 Wings & Hawks

Or, maybe have Edmonton, Vancouver or Winnipeg bring their darks to Calgary when on a single game road trip?

I think you're in the minority on this one.

I think part of the plan was to have less gear needed, and so guys can use the same gear (minus jersey) if called up.

It makes it so that when a guy gets called up the only thing the Equipment Manager has to do is change the decals on his helmet. It helps the player be comfortable in his regular gear without having to wear a generic team glove or a pant shell. How much of that translates to call-up success is hard to pin down but it makes things smoother for everybody involved.

Unless it's a longtime, very established brand (i.e. the Hershey Bears or the Rochester Americans) AHL teams will adopt the parent club colours. Sometimes the logos/uniform style will stay the same, but the colour scheme switches when there's a new NHL affiliate.

My take is that the jersey and logos are all OK. Not bad, but not great either because they just miss the mark. Which is par for the course when it comes to the Flames jerseys other than scaling back to the retro home/away setup which are both clean and simple. Every other attempt has been at best ok-good.

They missed a massive opportunity to bring back Cooperalls.

Thought the Wranger whites looked pretty sharp in the game highlights last night.

I don't mind the white ones, but I don't love the reds. I realize they were probably incorporating the old Wranglers jersey design. Could be worse.
I like the simple Wranglers merchandise- hats, shirts etc. Just shows simple is usually better when it comes to design in my opinion.

Too bad they missed an opportunity to ask Eatbread to draw what the Wranglers' logo should look like...

Asked Phillips and Jones about the jerseys last night — Phillips said they're sharp and Jones kept saying "they're awesome," so take from that what you will.

the flames desperately need more simple designs on their merchandise . wearing busy graphic shirts and hats was in 20 years ago but today plain /solid colors are what's fashionable . I'd love to wear flames merch more but it doesn't fit with everything else i wear . would love more solid retro reds with a minimalist look

The University of Calgary Dinos kits use the same colour palette but are exceedingly busy. Secondary logos on the socks?

I love these jerseys, however I would have gone with a white W on the red jersey.
