Nice lineup, excited to see Zohorna, I would prefer Mackey in the lineup over Stone though

Seeing Hanifin on your 3rd pairing truly showcases this teams depth on D even with Oliver out

I wonder if we see the PTO forwards cut today. Just one more pre-season game left.

Without much knowledge of the player, I wonder if Milano would be offered a contract with the understanding that he doesn't make the opening night lineup, but can go to the Wranglers and regain his confidence and put the work in for an eventual call up.

With his age and track record he could be a valuable call up later in the season if he is able to put the work in and really round out his game. The ability is there, it just seems like he's lost his mojo.

He could also have interest from other teams as well.

Eakin I think is just caught it a bottom 6 numbers game and just won't make the cut.

I'm guessing the Flames won't waive Valimaki or Mackey yet. If anything Stone will be on standby unsigned. I would assume the Flames don't technically need to waive anymore guys to have the 23 man roster. Kylington should most likely go on LTIR.

I would think so. No way they are getting in the lineup for game 8 - if they were going to get another chance/look, it was going to be tonight.

But the looks are going to: Zohorna, Ruzicka, and Rooney (which pretty much everyone seems to agree with)

Yes, I would think that they will wait until day 2 to sign Stone. That way they remain cap compliant with Kylington on the roster. Then he either gets relief or goes on LTIR, and they have room for Stone

Also looks like Zohorna on line 3 with Backlund being place held by Ruzicka, Rooney back to the fourth line

Yeah, based on these lines, it implies to me that they are currently considering the bottom half of the lineup to be:

Zohorna - Backlund - Coleman
Lucic - Rooney - Ritchie/Lewis
Ruzicka, Lewis/Ritchie

obviously the last couple games can affect that

Bringing in the new waiver wire guy and starting him surely can’t be a good sign for PTOs outside of Stone.

Like Zahorna and Ruzicka together.

Would like to see Lewis thrown on the RW of that line though.

Is this on TV at all? I'd like to see Zohorna's debut.

That's actually a pretty damn good looking lineup.

Agree on the forward PTOs being cut... doesn't make sense to play them in the last game on Friday so this was likely their last chance to get into a game. The fact they didn't make the trip implies the decision on them has already been made. The have been weighed, they have been measured, and they have been found wanting.

Curious to see what new guy can do, and what Ruzicka can do on a line with Coleman. They need to be as big a pain in the ass to play against as the Rooney/Backlund/Coleman line was on Monday. Also hoping for chemistry to show in the top two lines.

Not worried about the D or goaltending at all. Just more warmup time for them.

He didn’t lose anything. He has always been a bad hockey player except maybe the 20 games that Zegras propped him up.
