What's everyone's favorite bike shop lately? I've heard lots of negative reviews of The Bike Shop in downtown recently from folks and also r/Calgary.
I've also noticed a few mom & pop's show up around town recently rather than the big 4 (Ridleys, Bike Shop, Bow Cycle, Calgary Cycle) Are there any good ones to help with an overhaul for winter? I noticed one called Calgary Bicycle Repair near SunAlta station recently and one called RIDE on 42nd.
I couldn't resist my lack of self control and I picked up this 2015 Jamis Renegade Expert just a few minutes ago because I got a major deal on it because it needs an overhaul. I noticed some internal cables are fraying and I plan to replace the stem, cassette, and fix a bunch of other things but I've never done much bike work before.

I've learned a bunch from the Park Tools YouTube and I have a decent set of tools. Replacing the internal cables and some rusted parts may be out of my league however, so if I need to take it to a bike shop, who would you recommend? My plan is to turn this into a winter bike I don't care about getting muddy or crashing because the paint on the carbon is already roughed up from the previous owner who did a lot of gravelling.
