Right, but what is truly sad is that at least there are still people in the Oilers Org. that will still speak to him. Poor David Staples has no one to talk to anywhere.

He does get info from Katz directly and others in the organization so it's possible he gets info that agents have shared with the Oilers regarding other teams like the Flames.

An agent's job is to drive up the client's asking price. A casual inquiry can be spun into a supposed bidding war.
That said, I'd be braced for the possibility.

Why are some people actually worried? I really doubt the Flames are even interested. It's a tweet, quoting Stauffer of all people. The chance that this is real is quite small in my opinion. This is far more likely to be Stauffer making it look better for the Oilers if they end up signing him.

Hoping he's headed to an American city that could afford him some degree of anonymity.

Spec suggests Virtanen will not be an Oiler, but I don't know what he's playing at with his jab at Puljujarvi. Completely unnecessary, and the two players aren't even remotely comparable.
