Looch has always had limited minutes under Sutter, so I'm not sure why this would change. People's expectations seem low, which is why I'm not expecting to see any complaints about him this season...

He's the key leader in the room that everyone looks to for a stabilizing voice. Keeps the guys loose enough but focused on their game (see his various post game interviews). Makes everyone play bigger and keeps the other mouth breathers on opponents in check.

So, lots of heavy hits, maybe some time on the PP playing immovable object in front of the net, which led to a lot of goals on the PP last year and plenty of fights when the opposing team dares to. Yes, I'm a Looch fan and very happy the Flames have him.

Good for 10ish goals, 25ish points and a whole lot of confidence for the rest of the lineup.
Hopefully gets a letter this year, but will be part of the leadership group regardless

Has he played much with Backlund as his center? Did they have chemistry?

25 points would be his most since 2017-2018 when he was 29 years old.
I think it'll be a little lower.

I'll be happy with anything over 16, assuming he plays in every game.

I really hope he doesn't play in every game.

My hope he is healthy but only plays 55-60 games. He needs load management.

Didn't he play on our best line in the 2019-20 playoffs against Dallas with Backs and Dube?

Bennett was the centre on that line

Be a great team guy in the locker room. Use his leadership skills to help bring other players along.

I hope he only dresses may 60% of the games, but becomes a great mentor to younger players on how to play the right way.

When he does suit up, I hope he bashes in some faces, skates hard and turns into an absolute pest in the playoffs.

Maybe pot a few five-hole goals.

the fact that Lucic got the only penalty on that play is absolutely ridiculous. If the hit is on anyone in the league other than McDavid, Kane gets the penalty there.

A good interview with Lucic(@24:20) on the Francis show.

He mentioned that he still wants to play after this year. Also mentioned that the thing that sucked the most about the EDM loss was that they got sucked into EDM's game and that he hasn't been to the final in a while... wants to get back there. Had a significant injury towards the end of the year that made things quite difficult, all healthy now.

I only caught half the interview, but I will post a link once its up.

Edit: Link added

That was always going to be part of the problem facing the Oilers in the playoffs. I'm sure there was a memo sent out to the officials to ensure they didn't let the big bad Flames take liberties on McDavid. May as well have a no touch rule on him.

That, plus Coleman's no goal told me all I needed to know about what the league wanted out of this series.

Well, Lucic started it with a hit after the whistle on McDavid. That was always going to be a penalty.

Echoing others, I hope he plays like early season Lucic and not what we saw in the second half last year. Personally, I wanted Lucic gone over Monahan.

Lucic was in motion before the whistle. That was not an example of what hitting after the whistle refers to.

Lucic's hit was a little late. Nurse's was a lot late, and Kane coming in was next day late.
