Are you talking about Jagr?
I hope you aren't talking about Jagr, no one should regret that.

I regret they didn't take Iginla instead of Jagr would have been a nice last year to have him back on the team.
Guaranteed he scores more than one goal and finishes the season

I don’t regret the Jagr signing. It was cool having a legend of his stature on the team. It’s just ultimately didn’t turn out like most of us hoped it would on the ice

Jagr averaged 56 points a year the prior two years before signing with the Flames, so that was a bit different.

Not Thornton. But maybe Regehr and Iginla. Would be nice for both to have one last shot at a cup lmao

No. Matthew Phillips deserves a chance before Joe Thornton.

I have no idea what Thornton’s presence would offer this team in training camp, as the OP suggests.

Do you have some intel that the Flames are considering a PTO for him Steve?
Just having him here for a bit would be a cool story, but he's 43. That said, he might still be a better player than our current 4th line though.

He would be a fantastic guy to have in the room! Totally a guy the team would be driven to win for and a barrel of laughs. I do know he still wants to play, winning a SC would mean the world to him!

He was a complete non factor in Florida last year. An absolute waste of a roster spot, and was barely played in the 2nd half of the season. Hard pass.

I am not interested in the Flames signing Thornton, but I also these sorts of rationalizations from past experiences are fairly meaningless. Joe Thornton is not Jaromir Jagr, and the career results of one have nothing to do with the other.

If he wanted to come by, put on Flames' silks, and skate for a few games-why not. Maybe sell a few more preseason tickets and hotdogs. Spot on the opening day roster? No thanks.

I like Jumbo just fine but I don’t see him providing anything, especially in camp. And players really need to want to win for themselves.
Now would his personality help balance Sutter a little? There might be something to that, too bad he can’t play any more though.

Not sure if he could play again, but I bet he blows Jumbo Joe away in fitness testing....
