Sutter can straighten him out...it wouldn't be the first time a player was not qualified, waived, let go, and came back to have a strong season/career
"nobody picks him up" is also likely false...he probably has options but wants to find the best fit

Sutter worked on the coaching staff as an advisor in Anaheim while Milano played there. Sutter will know and will tell Treliving. If we're still interested in him, then no doubt Sutter consented. So the point you are replying to is, as usual, entirely moot as the person sharing it consistently believes they exist in the minds of other people.

I'm not entirely sure what your last sentence means. But yeah, if Treliving goes out and gets someone I'm sure he's asked Sutter what he thinks.

Boy you are on a roll today with the personal jabs at me. I erased what I wrote because it is what you want to see. I have tried to not lose my crap when someone clearly is out to troll me with personal attacks and you are just trying to goad me. So have it, after all despite what it says in the rules if I report it nothing will happen. So you go, what else you got?

Florida lost a lot of pieces, especially with Duclair out most of the year.
Tkachuk-Barkov-Reinhart
Verhaeghe-Bennett-Hornqvist
Lomberg-Lundell-White
Cousins-Luostarinen-Balcers
Staal-Tierney
Forsling-Ekblad
Marc Staal-Gudas
Carlsson-Montour
Del Zotto
Bobrovsky
Knight
And Maurice instead of the Coach Q / Brunette combo.
To me that team really lacks depth outside of that top line and Ekblad. And is $3.3M over the cap before Duclair is on LTIR.

He got 28 games with the Flames last year, and it's a very good bet that he gets more than that this year.
But yeah, ragging on the team is more fun.

Looks like a team poised to regress this season.

Might be okay but certainly not a "stacked team"

Lundell will take a step forward, and so will Spencer Knight, but the loss of Marchment will sting, and Tkachuk won’t match Huberdeau in offensive production. Their D is much worse off though, with Tre poaching Weegar. I don’t think they are as good this year as last.

The Flames-Panthers blockbuster sure makes Florida look a lot less deep. Having Barkov and Huberdeau each anchor a line gave them an unreal top 6. Tkachuk-Barkov-Reinhart has the chance to be the best line in the league in my opinion but I question the rest of that forward group.

The Panthers were able to get 115 points from Huberdeau while he was lugging around late blooming non-elite's like Bennett and Duclair.
Because of that they were able to trot a stud like Barkov out on another high octane scoring line.
I don't think we'll see Tkachuk take his own line, away from Barkov, and smoke the league for 115 points. He probably won't put up anywhere near 100 points even if he is playing WITH Barkov.

I don’t see it happening either. A lot of his success came from Sutter’s puck-possession, up-tempo style that steeply tilted the ice. My bet is he doesn’t even get 90 for the rest of his career.

Agreed...Sutter talked about how skilled Tkachuk was coming off the boards and around the net. That implied someone else was handling AND dishing the puck to him. The guy to do that in Florida was Huberdeau.

Wolanin and Connauton were claimed in December, Cholowski in February, Juolevi and Pouliot in March. It's very different in October, when every team is trying to clear its own players through waivers – as other posters have pointed out.

Based on his coaching history he should bring stable mediocrity to Florida.
