KISS isn't overrated. They are rated a joke, so pretty apt.

Eagles? Not a joke.

Guns and Roses? Agreed, well overrated, along with U2, Queen, and Radiohead.

And this is true outside of classic rock too. I remember one of the poppier channels constantly playing Ghetto Supastar some 20 years later like it's the only hip hop hit from the 90s they knew. It's weird how they glom onto one particular song.

Blink 182 has to be the worst live band of all time. You're basically watching Travis play along with a metronome while the other two attempt to sing on key or keep rythm for a full second. Id bet every bass and guitar track on a blink album was recorded by the producer after they left the studio.

Not going to requote again but none of those bands in IMs post are overrated. They’re all still touring and selling out arenas, even the Eagles without Glen Frey. I think his son is in the band now and they played or will play in Edmonton.

AC/DC put out a new album not to long ago. How many people even know who Bon Scott is anymore, I would pick that era over the one with Brian Johnson who I like as well. You can go and find old concerts with Bon Scott and they’re still rocking and raunchy as ever, make the hair stand up on your skin.

Another thing along with record sales and live shows, these are still top bands that a lot of newer bands can’t even touch.

With Kiss you have to know the history or Kisstory as they call it. Interesting project band to delve into.

Of all the 3 bands you named, you somehow managed to be wrong without even mentioning Nickleback.

Bonus shout out to Bryan Adams who can kick rocks himself. And that cow Anne Murray.

Nickleback is in their own league because their overratedness is overrated.

Funny how subjective music taste is. Can’t stand the Hip (or Rush) but you dare not say that around their cult like fans, never mind people with roots in Ontario. How baked do you have to be to not find that “ahead by a century” song annoying as hell.

I like them but that song was on their worst record and radio played the hell out of it. It annoyed me too.

I never liked Rush. I can appreciate that they are/were great musicians but Geddy Lee's voice simply has never been pleasing to my ears. I was an early fan of Up to Here and Road Apples before they blew up in after Fully Completely. Since I grew up with them a lot of their music is very time and place. A lot of their songs bring back great memories and their early stuff still holds up. I just feel their music peaked early and most of their stuff after Trouble at the Henhouse isn't overly memorable. Music at Work in particular is terrible.

The Doors are the most overrated band. Just awful.

Yeah it's kind of the idea behind psychedelic rock music in the day. They were actually a talented group of musicians IMO and some of their songs have held up over time as their songs have been used in so many films over the decades for example when I hear People are Strange it takes me right to The Lost Boys. I can totally understand why people may think they are overrated but they were pretty original in their day and anytime you are discussing a band that dates back 40-50 years it's because they did something right.
