This is going to be a fascinating team to watch. There’s a lot of added elements this year and depth. Should be fascinating to watch Sutter work his magic with this group.

WOWW

Now, I personally didn't think this was the right move for the team, but stand ready to eat crow yet again. And will happily scarf it down.

There is no argument that our management team grabbed this situation by the horns and tried to make the best of it. I am already eating many many crows over my comments on their lack of preparedness at beginning of free agency. They have proven they were on top of this.

GO Flames. Go Brad Treliving!

WOW, what an off season.

Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Monahan out
Huberdeau, Kadri, Weegar in.

Complain all you like about Brad's lack of success in the playoffs, but he sure doesn't hesitate to swing for the fences.

Treliving wizards all the media. John Shannon is questioning his whole world right now.

It's going to be a fun couple of years.

I am looking forward to the "We don't need you" chant at Gaudreau when CLB runs into town now.

Can't believe how they have reshaped this team in the span of a MONTH.

Clock is ticking now and this will certainly end in disaster but who cares.

Got 2 or 3 years of fun

Monahan to Columbus would be beautiful.

Looks like the Flames are going for broke, and accept that 4-5 years from now they may be the San Jose Sharks with some bloated contracts for aging players (unless Kadri's nose-dives the last few years).

But you have to admire the dedication to winning right now, and as for Brad... I don't think anyone can question the guy's ability to get things done. He can really blast things out of the park when he's given enough leash to do it.

Yes the term will be too long. Same with Huberdeau. But the next few years are going to be a lot of fun. Worry about the other stuff later.

I’ve been a fan for 35+ years. I just want to watch a competitive team that’s entertaining. This is fun. We should all enjoy it.

What if Tre’s wizardry nets us some kind of asset?

My prediction is Monahan to Montreal for Armia.

Montreal takes on more cap hit but gets out of two extra years.

I'll be happy if they don't have to give up an asset to make it happen.

The thing is these aren’t 11-12 million dollar deals

Sure they will be overpaid at the tail end , but they aren’t franchise crippling as the cap goes up , assuming they don’t turn into completely useless players
