The two teams that have rumors swirling all around them are the Flames and Islanders, but no confirmation of anything. Both are apparently in on Kadri. Looking at their rosters, the interesting thing is that the Islanders have their top pairing locked up, and then two journeyman vets and two young guys on the bottom four. Calgary needs to shed a defenseman.
Both Tre and Lou love their out of the blue trades. Personally I can see Kadri in NYI.
So here is my best guesses for the next week.
Palmeiri and NYI 2023 1st to Calgary for Valimaki. Opens up NYI signing Kadri. Palmeiri reclamation.
Lucic to Boston via Arizona retaining 50% for a pick (third?). Not much real money in play, mostly cap.

So Valimaki & Lucic for Palmeiri & a 1st?
I mean, sure... the first is nice, but don't think that solves the Flames needing another top6 forward (Palmeiri isn't anymore).

Personally, I don't think that they need one. Just my opinion. Also banking on some Jersey Palmeiri magic for the bottom six. I could see the Isle missing the playoffs even with Kadri.

Palmieri at 5 million until 2025?
They would be better off just keeping Lucic and having him contract expire this season. The first rounder isn’t worth it.

2023 1st is absolutely worth it. Even lottery protected that pick will be very valuable this year
