Jack Sock has been added to Team World for the upcoming Laver Cup. Two spots still need to be filled. I have to think Opelka will be one of them and if Shapo can find some form, he might be the other.
/Felix, Taylor Fritz, and Diego Schwartzman along with Sock comprise the team thus far.

Team World desperately needs some new blood. Trotting out these retreads is not a good look for the event when they are all having pretty meh seasons, and little to no chance of winning a singles match against anyone on Team Europe.
DeMinuar and even Shapo (despite his struggles) should be a no brainer ahead of any of the Americans outside of Fritz.

Injury plagued players are just that and it's pretty rare that the switch flips and their chronic injuries go away. Looks like she's heading down the road of Raonic. Not much you can do when the body isn't able.

Shapo is just about to take on one of Girly's favorites (JJ Wolf) at the Citi Open.
Edit: It appears that Denis using a blacked out Yonex racket today which means it's likely a 3rd different racket for Shapo in 2022. Not ideal to say the least.
Edit 2: And Denis is broken to start the match.

Could be an updated version of the VCORE that's yet to be released. Still when a player is switching racquets like this it's a sign that he's struggling.
