Good chance he's full value for 2 of those seasons, maybe 3.
If the 7AAV is what gets him here for shorter term, so be it.

I think if he would take that from the Flames it would be done

I'm holding out hope for more wizardry. If there's truth to the nyi rumor on Kadri, they need to move some salary out. They seem to prefer Nelson at centre in top 6 to barzal, and Kadri would take the other top 6 c role. I want to know what a barzal package would have to look like. If it can be built off of a d + coronato that would be really attractive.

I think they're referring to the Boomer tweet where he said that Kadri wasn't interested in signing here now:
https://twitter.com/user/status/1547747116994293761
But there have been a lot of rumours since then that they're still in the mix. Boomer's tweet was also before the Huberdeau/Weegar trade which may impact his interest in signing here.
Friedman said on the recent 32 Thoughts that signing Kadri may help convince Huberdeau and Weegar to sign long term too. Clearly all 3 signings will be announced together.

It's going to be The Decision North! "I'm going to take my talents to South East Calgary"
and then we crank the 3 of them out at the same time at the dome to Carly Rae Jepsen.

I'm kinda hoping Tree is shopping for a trade in lieu of adding Kadri to what will likely be a.... I'm trying real hard to be fair here but....a lucic level contract.
The post Tkachuk trade process for the Flames has been ridiculously slow going and silent.
I'd like to see maybe instead of Kadri a shot at Tarasenko still.
If they're signing UFAs take some shots at other FAs.
We still have yet to see some movement on the remaining RFAs either which is also a slower than it should be burn.
I trust Treliving but his glacial pace bugs me for no reason.

Jim Rutherford hinted that the Canucks are going to look to strengthen their defense through a trade and they need to free up some cap.
I wonder if Garland would be a good fit on the Flames for someone like Kylington.

That would be a fair trade. Garland kind of had his role reduced under Boudreau but is an effective middle 6 forward.

He's a pretty tenacious player and has good underlying stats as well. The Canucks used him a lot on the LW, but he is a natural RW I think.
He is such a sneaky guy around the net, kind of reminds me of a poor man's Tkachuk. I saw some posts on here before from some people saying he sucks, but I actually think he is underrated more than anything.

Dang it.
Didn't think it was realistic, but post-Huby/WeeGAR trade, I really wanted Nazem, thinking he'd really make the Flames an extra tough matchup against anyone in the league.
Hopefully Tre the Wizard is waiting patiently to strike again as teams iron out their cap situations.

It was rumoured over a week ago that Kadri signed a contract to play for the Isles and that Lou was waiting to register it until their RFAs are dealt with and they know how much salary they need to dump without looking desperate.
If this was true, you would have to think it would annoy other FAs currently sitting around waiting for the Kadri domino to fall.

The Isles tend to do this every summer though, so not surprised.

That’s not Kadri’s problem though is it?
