Lol it is going to be for Chychrun and then Matthews will sign there as well in a few years.

I care. clearly. And so will you when he lights up it vs us. Especially if it's to a divisional rival. There's a reason divisional rivals don't trade their best players to each other.

I didn’t think he looked bad per se. He was struggling to match his previous seasons though due to being strapped to a couple of boat anchors though. That was obvious to me. I felt the Gaudreau and Monahan combo needed to be broken up a long time ago.

I actually really liked his 2021 season a lot minus a small stretch right after Darryl arrived. In 19-20, I’d say his first half was a struggle, but second half was much better. Overall, I would’ve been ok giving him $9ish x 8 last offseason, you could tell the top line was going to burn down villages which would’ve made his contract a great value.

When does the arbitration schedule get announced? Guess that will set a pretty firm date at when a deal has to be done.

The writing was on the wall a long time ago that one or both might, and probably would leave at some point. Like we’re the first team to ever lose a guy to free agency.

And then all the BS about this being a black mark on the franchise and a sign the org is tainted. Gtfo with that crap. Chucky was leaving no matter what Johnny did. This has nothing to do with it.
Honestly, anyone surprised by this doesn’t follow the NHL. The writing was on the wall for both these guys to walk, and people had been talking about just this possibility for years.

And yes, Treliving and ownership were well aware this is how it all might turn out. They pushed all their chips in last season and came up short. That’s pro sports.

I’m surprised this hasn’t been announced yet. I was thinking it would be out early this week.

Kyrou, Tarasenko, and a 1st would be a good little retool trade. Not sure the Blues would do that though.

In hind sight I'm glad the Flames pushed all in last playoffs. I hate how it turned out, but its going to be a couple years before this team is gearing for a playoff run.

Chychrun's concussion issues worry me. But I think I'd do Rob Thomas for Tkachuk straight up.

The asset managers will never let it have another one.

His one from 2 years ago? Most recent injury was an ankle.

Then he can’t sign an extension until Jan 1.

I think this will be what we are looking at from anyone.

Young player to step into the top 6
Cap dump but of someone who still plays a top 6 role
First round pick.

Plug those two pieces into our lineup, and there is no way they are going to be rebuilding.

Of course you would, Thomas is the blue's best player. He’s going no where.

I still think we can be second or third in this division, just instead of winning games 5-1 it’ll be 2-1 or 3-2 games.

Vezina calibre goalie
Solid defence core
Two Selke calibre centers
Best Coach in the league
Team with a chip on their shoulder’s
Weak division

Agreed. And the two years Sutter won the cup the Kings were bottom 5 in the league scoring if I recall?

The year they missed the playoffs they were top ten.

When did Tkachuk lite up a division rival? He has played bad in big games for the most part.

Sure he got beat up by Kassian and drew a penalty but they certainly got the better if him over his career
