Ya I’m starting to question my commitment as a STH. Had our tickets in the family since the team moved from Atlanta.

Between this and the arena debacle I think I’ve had enough.

Lose him for nothing?

I wonder who is the next player out. Something incredibly rotten at the upper levels of this team.

This really sucks, but I respect him for laying it all out right now and giving the Flames some options.

Here is my guess. American kid. Covid times. And the flames likely low balled him. What a disaster

Such a draw, it has brought in the amazing UFAs such as Campbell, Kane, Janmark and Hyman.

I like that he is working with the team to facilitate a trade but if that list is accurate it really sucks that NJ is not on it. I am not nearly as upset about this as I was about Gaudreau. Tkachuk takes dumb penalties, will get overpaid after being propped up by Gaudreau's ability, and his skating will not age well. Hopefully Tre hits it out of the park.

Meh I'm bored of this current edition of the team. I'm excited for some change and what happens next.
As Miller said, do we really think this team was going to win a cup with 20M+ tied up in Tkachuk and Johnny?
I'm ready for something new.

It's worth pointing out that on the list of Tkachuk's preferred teams to sign with long-term, with the exception of St. Louis, all of those teams are located where there's no state tax.

So besides the fact that Tkachuk would be willing to play for his old man's former team, this really looks to be about Matthew chasing more money.

Sucks to be a small Canadian market. If I were Murray Edwards I'd be pushing hard during the next CBA negotiations to get a fairer deal for Canadian teams.

No wonder a Canadian team hasn't won the Cup in nearly 30 years. We struggle to keep our stars. Only a matter of time until we see the Canucks, Jets, Oilers and Senators lose their stars.

Teams included on that list will be able to bid knowing that he must likely won't be a rental. I wonder if the flames will give permission for this list of teams to discuss a contract with Chucky.
Well they have to do. No team is just going to trade for him without having an agreement in place.

The senators just signed Brady to an 8 year contract last year. There are clearly ways to keep these players happy in Canada, apparently Calgary/ Calgary Flames Ownership and Management have absolutely no idea what these things are, but there are clearly ways.

Not wrong though. McDavid is certainly a draw. Go and play with him and pump your stats and get paid.
The Flames are not a destination right now. The team doesn't look competitive, they are in a less desirable market for several reasons, and they have an old building.

There is some reality to all that. Some of it the GM is accountable for, some of it owners are, and some of it is outside their control.

I'm just fascinated to see what happens next.

What's the point of buying season tickets? Gambling to get access to playoff tickets for a low price, right? Seems cheaper and easier to just buy the single games you want and pay market for playoff tickets.

Like I said in the other thread, I’m in the rebuild camp, so this is great.

Matthew wasn’t going to take this team to new heights or anything like that, so trading him now at his highest peak value could be a blessing in disguise. The Flames should honestly think about trading Lindholm and Markstrom too while they’re at it.

This team is going no where next season, so why not tank for Bedard and jumpstart the next core ASAP rather than drag your heels like the Iggy era ended up.

I just hope the return is as significant as the Iginla trade. That really helped take the sting out of losing him.
