Also - putting it out there that perhaps we should pause this activity until the Tkachuk situation is resolved given the potential impact to the prospect base.

I've been really excited about Pelletier since I saw him in his first rookie game against Edmonton.
That said, Coronato, if he meets his potential is exactly what this team is hurting for right now. His ceiling is just a little higher than Pelletier's. Even though Pelletier is closer.

Can you clarify what you mean by this?
We should pause the annual prospect ranking in the case that we trade Tkachuk for prospects?

Will be interesting where the Wolf voters go for round two (assuming this stays where it is)

Dustin Wolf won AHL goalie of the year...as a rookie.
Should have been rookie of the year too IMO - which is ridiculous to be goalie of the year and not win rookie of the year.
At this point Wolf is the most proven.

I believe that is what he means. If we get Grade A prospects, it will definitely impact the ranking.

All good arguments
But he is a goalie
And these are the Flames

Pretty amazing to see Wolf and Pelletier be so great in the AHL in their first seasons.

I am always skeptical of goalie prospects.

Pelletier, Wolf, Zary, Coronato in that order for me. Pelletier should play in the NHL this year. Wolf is a small goaltender trying to break into a big goaltender league, so he has that to overcome. Zary has to overcome injuries. Coronato has to commit to the pro game and Calgary.

I love what Wolf has shown since he was drafted. I also remember many highly touted Flames goalie prospects and know what tends to happen to them. I can't vote for Wolf this early.
Pelletier had a great rookie season in the AHL and is poised to become an NHLer and likely a good one. He gets my vote.

Went Coronato but really my mind could change between him, Pelletier, and Wolf on any given day. I think those three are on an island at the top.

I figured it would be a 3-way race with Pelletier, Coronato and Wolf.
For me, I jsut can't put a goalie first, simply because - as awesome as he is - the path to the NHL for goalies is just so murky.
Between Pelletier and Coronato, I think both are pretty sure bets, but I was really impressed with the way Pelletier handled the AHL. IMO< he is NHL ready, and he is a pretty safe bet to eventually be in the top 6
So Pelletier for me

Gotta be Wolf #1. Year after year he keeps defying all the stature questions and keeps winning and gaining accolades.
The Goalies are voodoo thing is fine. But don't outsmart yourself from voting for the guy who clearly been the prospect bins best performer by a fairly substantial margin at every single step.

I like Wolf more, but voted for Pelletier in round 1. Wolf has already proven himself as a great AHL goaltender but he has to (re)prove himself to me in the NHL as his height is quite atypical and against current goaltending trends. That said, I do have the same hype I remember having for Gaudreau as a player who could be an absolute steal if things come together.
Pelletier's game looks like it would translate easier and we're mostly waiting on him to get older/stronger to get promoted to the NHL. In terms of what a "best" prospect is, the likelihood of putting it together at the NHL level is a consideration to me.
