I think it's a great move. Jarmo knows there's little chance Gaudreau actually signs there, but he can show that he tried and at the very least drove up the price for other Eastern teams. Good man, Jarmo.

You can twist the narrative anyway you want. He wanted to go back home, did you expect him to not have teams offer him 80+ million? He had to of known someone out there would offer that to walk away from it in Calgary... He wasn't going to sign a massive discount out east.

If there's a worse place than Youngstown Ohio, I haven't seen it. Had to spend a week there once. Was very interesting to say the least.
