If that truly did happen and the UA armed forces are at fault, well then shame on them for doing this and they deserve to be punished. Obviously you can't go around doing that.
Having said that, this is happening in pretty much ALL occupied territory under Russian control by the Russians, including the village my in-laws are trapped in. They were told to their faces that they were being held in their village to be used as human shields, since it discourages the UA forces from all-out attacking those Russian positions.
So while it's discouraging to know some UA forces might have done this, it's very strange how the UN report seems to have been steered towards this investigation in the first place. I'd like to see the report(s) on the Russians doing the exact same thing but on a significantly much larger scale, very clearly with orders from above.
In a war of this scale, there will always be violations on either side. Soldiers are people, and even the most moral army can only control the individual actions of their soldiers so much. Ukraine has also been forced to use relatively untrained soldiers, and they have no choice but to keep using them.
I agree with you though, it's very strange to put so much focus on this incident. Russia is literally leveling entire cities of civilians.

It’s unbearable to think about the barbarism and cruelty being displayed by the Russian fascists. Gut wrenching stuff.
I work with a bunch of Russian people (based out of Russia), who I have good relationships with. Having been born in Kyiv, I am finding it almost impossible to not harbor any resentment. ##### that country.

A group representing the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada said on Tuesday it was seeking a judicial review of the federal government's decision to return repaired turbines to Germany that are needed for the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline.
The Canadian government on Saturday said it was issuing a "time-limited and revocable permit" to exempt the return of turbines from its Russian sanctions as Europe seeks continued energy flows until it can end its dependency on Russian gas.
Whatever it takes to get gas to our allies in Europe! Whatever it takes! As long as it's not gas from a non hostile, allied country. You know what, we would also like to keep Russia happy as well. Is there any way we can do that? I mean, Slava Ukraine for sure but what can we do? It's not like you can just pull gas out of the ground and throw it on a ship! I mean we can but we've got this kinda end of the world environmental crisis wave that I'm riding to keep my seat here, you might not know about it since you're kinda busy with the war or whatever it is you're doing with the Russians. Anyways talking about the Russians we're gonna send them their turbines back so they can sell you gas! Yay! what a win win for everyone that is, if you need anything else, and I mean anything just come a knocking! Canada's got your back! For realsies!
Information brokers like Google have it hard, if they leave then they can't share the information from the other side. If they stay they are profiting off an enemy state.
