Cooper trying the 'us against the world (refs, league)' shtick maybe? Comments that the league wants parity and wants to make it hard on teams to continue success.... but he 'loves the league'. Bit of a backhanded compliment there.
You've won two cups and you cheated the salary cap to get one bud. Nobody is going to feel sorry for you and your team.
There are 6 guys on the ice in that shot and the only guy near the bench is going off...they must have six guys on the ice for a while. Wish they would rewind 3 seconds or so...but it's not like the guy coming on is anywhere near the bench
Cooper may have a point but it's a tough call when the Avs player is behind their own net away from the play
There are already breakdowns circulating showing that there are 6 Avs players, Byram is at the boards getting off for the change. At the same time, there are 7 Lightning players on the ice, so…

Didn't Edmonton get caught with 8 guys on or something this season?

They should just make them replay the entire game.
Just void the game and re-do it. A Hockey Mulligan.
And then round up the entire 2004 Lightning and Flames rosters and do the same and when the Flames win re-allocate the Cup.
Yes.

Regardless, there are more egregious line changes every game. They certainly aren't going to call it when the 2 involved Colorado players aren't involved in the play in OT of a SCF game, lol.
Looks like the guy going off was replacing Kadri. Aves 13, the guy near the center ice dot didn’t change and was in the Tampa zone before it was dumped out.
The difference between having players on and off the ice is that the men changing can't be in possession of the puck or interfering with the play. The fact that there are more players on the ice than 5 is irrelevant. It looks like Kadri was the player going onto the ice and he was on the opposite side of the rink while in possession of the puck all the while Byram was still on the playing surface.
As per the rules that is easily too many men and if it happened against my team I would be pissed.

So definitely too many men.
Yeah, I certainly don't feel sorry for them but Avs only have one player anywhere near the bench...so they have 6 guys on the ice for at least a few seconds.
Tampa does too but their guys are within a foot or two of the bench. In fairness to the officials I doubt they even know the Avs have a guy way back behind their own net.
I am 100% sure the Flames had that called on them in OT this season and there was far less egregious, cant remember the game though
There was also no need for Cooper to go all cryptic..."we think they had too many men on the ice" would have sufficed. Didn't need the Canadian boy who loves the league and his heart is breaking and you will all find out tomorrow crap.
