Price cares about his legacy in Montreal, that has been pretty clear in the past. No way in hell he agrees to go to Toronto.

I think Price's career is pretty much over. I think you would have to consider that contract to have negative value

He literally took time off under the PAP arising from the emotional toll. That's tough in and of itself but also an admission that pressure can indeed get to him.

The Leafs have two more seasons of Austin Matthews and hedging their bets on a broken down 34 year old goaltender is the kind of thing the Oilers would do. I think the Leafs have to aim higher than Price.

Not sure if its over, however I don't think that contract can be traded.
Price has 4 years left at $10.5m
Not sure why any team would take that risk

I wouldn't do it but I think there are teams that would take him at 5.25x4 and pay to do it
like the Oilers

What's Iginla's legacy in Calgary?
There's more to a legacy than "Stanley Cup? yes/no"

Price’s 14/15 season was pretty damn special, also only the 2nd goalie unless I’m mistaken (Hasek had two) to win the LBP/Ted Lindsay to go along with the Hart, Vezina and Jennings he won that year. He’s also got most reg season wins by any habs goalie in the history of the franchise which is kinda insane, he’s a first ballot no questions for me even if he never gets that cup. It’s a hard trophy to win and it takes more than just one player to win it, of all the major sports it’s the hardest path to glory, can’t hold that against some of the greats who never had the fortune to lift it.

Knight is their guy. He's ready.
If the Oilers got Bob I'd be slightly worried.

Even at 50% of $10 million, he would be difficult for the Oilers to add considering their cap space. Not to mention, he must have an NMC of some kind.

According to CapFriendly, he has a limited NTC, but it doesn't take effect until 2024.
I don't see how the Oilers would find the cap space, though.

Until then he has a full NMC, lets see, South Florida or Edmonton?

Feels like it could be a fit.. but not a lot of space.
You’d have to imagine Nylander is as good as gone of that happens.

If the Leafs are moving Nylander, the Flames should be all over that. Tremendous player.
