If I hadn't watched the Flames play like they did against Dallas, you might have a point. The Flames have a mental problem when it comes to playing the Coilers and they played like a team almost unrecognizable from what their season showed, no doubt...but beyond that, I don't have a lot of worries.

Took the Avs 2 years to make it past round 2. Some perspective for those fans who panic and call for rebuilds when their team doesn't make it far in the playoffs.

Hopefully that's the closest McAvi and Pissy get to reaching the finals as Oilers. As nice as it would be to get revenge like the Flames did Dallas I hope the Oilers have a brutal season next year proving just how much they're frauds but not bad enough to get a lottery pick.

Turns out Kane was suspended for the rest of the playoffs.

I'm not concerned because I don't think anyone was beating the Avs anyway, but playoffs are all about playing well at the right time, even good teams screw that up.

I have to think that the Flames would have put up a better fight against the Avs but they just couldn't bring their best game against the Oilers. Glad those chumps are out. Go AV's!!!

Objectively speaking, it wouldn’t have mattered if we made it to the conference final. Colorado would have beat the wheels off us as well.

Man is Makar ever fun to watch.

Teams lineup against other teams very differently. Flames would have been the underdogs against the Avalanche, but a healthy Flames team vs a healthy Avalanche team would not be a 4 game sweep.

People can argue that Draisaitl was injured or whatever, but he almost played 30 min tonight. He can't be that hurt.

So, how big a raise is Nurse getting next season?

Bob Stauffer is convinced that this is the start of a five-year run for the young, "up and coming" Edmonton Oilers, who have a crop of good prospects coming in, and are only a year behind where Colorado is in tbeir developmental trajectory.
