This offside thing got me thinking.
You ever see a delayed penalty and sometimes it is not enough for the team to deflect the puck but they have to have full possession before the refs will blow the whistle?
Is that like the opposite of what just happened with that offside call?
Because I don't know how you can say Cale friggen Makar didn't "have possession"

Flames were sloppy. Now Avs are sloppy. Markstom was weak. Not Avs goalie is weak
How is Edmonton forcing teams to play river hockey?

This script looks familiar. Edmonton good for 5 goals per game. Is Colorado?

It's crazy how similar this is to game one of the last series. Avalanche kind of getting caught up playing an Oilers friendly style of hockey much like the Flames.

It was an incredibly unfortunate bounce though.
Like, yes, they need to clean up their defense, but that goal was super lucky.

He made a terrible pass that bounced off a skate and went right to his guy (not the guy he was trying to pass to)

Oilers breed chaos and other teams always fall into it.

It's hard to argue who's better because they're basically equals but with different styles and skillsets. That being said, in a Game 7, I'd take MacKinnon every time.

You could have been describing Iggy there, once upon a time.

I really hate the way the Oilers play hockey. It's all loosey goosey river hockey nonsense with McDingus and Drai playing every 2nd shift. So annoying.

It's funny when you just watch Nurse for an entire shift.......he's really bad.
That last shift he just let the Av beat him to the puck, then went down on one knee when the other Av that was wide open on his side took the shot. Literally useless.

Very structure-less. When you have a go-to puck hog kind of player, that's what you get.

It came down to: did he push forward and then pick it up, or was he stick-handling(possession)? It's close, and the angle that Sportsnet kept showing made it look like the puck was only about an inch from his stick. And from that angle, I thought it was possession and they would overturn it. But there are a couple other angles, including the one from behind the net, that show pretty clearly that he pushed it forward, and it was maybe 6 inches from his stick until he touched it again.
From those angles, it looked like the correct call. And pretty clearly.
