The team built for the playoffs tuned off the tough tap? Deer in the headlights, pucks in skates, kid gloves for McDavid, Backlund your best player... ? The Oilers just knocked the San which out of my mouth. Please don’t hang the Pacific banner for a couple years, and do it without fanfare.
Kudos to CP. enjoy the ride every time I’m here. Be well all.

I’ve never seen anyone play like that with a high ankle sprain. Rene Bourque had one and was out for a couple months.

Johnny was floating around too.
Just a weird series for this team. Just played completely different from everything that made them successful all season. Just.....strange.

Markstrom is normally so strong positionally but he lost his net and many of the goals in this series. Many of the goals would’ve simply hit a goalie that was in proper position, that was the difference in the series.
I’m not concerned about Marky moving forward, he’s a great goalie. He wasn’t on his game for whatever reason. Everyone could see that, so I don’t get why he was in there the past 2 games.
It was hard to watch Hanifin struggle all series. I was concerned before the season started, thinking he wasn’t a top pairing guy, but I felt he proved me wrong all season … but he just couldn’t keep up in this series… hard to know what to make of that for next season.
It’s true that the players didn’t play well, but I felt Woodcroft out coached Sutter, too. I just didn’t see any adjustments made, at all.

Sutter doesn't get out coached we have the best coaching staff in the NHL. The players are who failed not the coach

Another poster already corrected me and did so in a respectful way. I admitted I was wrong to that poster, calling it "wishful thinking" on my part.
But yeah, making a mistake on a player's UFA status means I'm not a true fan. #### both of you.

Im not overly upset or disappointed. Flames got some real playoff experience this year. A lot of our core players looked mentally exhausted by the end of the series. Lots of mental mistakes.
They were good enough on paper. But they didn't have enough in them for a long run. It's okay. guys like Kylington, Anderson, Tkachuk, Lindholm, Hanifin, Dube, Mangiapane, etc will leave this season with a better understanding of what's required to win
Big off-season ahead. It's okay guys.

I think Johnny guessed, wrongly, that Draisaitl would try to pass to the point, and he was trying to pick it off. He should have known Draisaitl will always look for McDavid.

I think the most likely explanation is Draisaitl wasn't injured nearly as much as the media claimed.
Just like when McDavid overcame the plague and 20 other health issues.

Both him and Johnny…..done it all series. Real character players
I still want Johnny back though. Without him we have no offense and he is a fun player to watch
Hanifin, I don’t give a damn

Woodcroft: Ya we were pretty confident when they were reviewing it that the goal would be called back.
Ya right you howdy doody prick, you f###ing liar, everyone and their dog assumed that it was going to be a good goal.
I saw the review a bunch of times while it was under review. I was not nervous a bit because it seemed like such an easy obvious call.
Unbelievable. Just an atrocious call, simply awful.

McDavid does things I've never seen a player do in my life. He literally can just flip a switch and make everybody look like an a$$ clown, the stuff you see in minor hockey. It absolutely sucks that they fluked out and won a lottery to get him. He also gives the entire team a bunch of swagger. Sucks

I hate to say it but Johnny is partial responsible for that puck even getting to McDavid. He started to skate towards Leon and Noah but peeled off to cover the point. Had he stayed where he was, he could off intercepted or at least tipped the pass away

That. Or the Oilers shortened his career to win a series.

100% correct.
Sutter maintained that Las Vegas and Edmonton were the top tier of the division. He's correct, at least about the Oilers, and truthfully a healthy Vegas is likely the best of the 3.
Flames need to improve for next year to take a real run. Sutter came here to win.
All this tanking BS in another thread is funny because its not even the fact that tanking is ethically bad, it's that to consider tanking next season a possibility for this management group shows a total ignorance of the state of the franchise. Like it or not, they'll be all in next season.

You can work through a torn labrum..been there. But it’s very uncomfortable and you have way less strength. Tanev is a damn warrior full stop.
