Down to .850 for the series now. 19 goals against on 12 expected goals against for Markstrom.
Don’t care how the team is playing in front of him, you’re not going to beat anyone with that type of goaltending performance
|
Heck, Brian Elliot was sporting an .880 percentage that year in the playoffs.

The disappearing act of heavy forechecking and backchecking by this team is very evident. When you get outhit by smaller players like Yamamoto and Archibald and you let them run around freely in your own zone, this team deserves not to win. Markstrom is not your goalie when the team in front of him lets everyone down. The only guy i would sign right now after this series and on Thursday is Zadorov. St least him and Tanev were hitting out there. Gudbranson is a huge disappointment in these playoffs TBH. Wow, this tells you what a team and character the Flames were in 2004 with Iggy, Regehr, and Kipper with supporting casts!

As big of a Sutter supporter as you’ll find but having Lucic-Lewis-Dube-Kylington-Stone on together with under 4 minutes left in a tied near-must-win game is tough to understand.

The Flames made McDavid look human tonight. You make McDavid look human and you have a chance to beat the Oilers every time you play them.

Long game? The goal is to end it as quickly as possible. He's gushed about the teams increased level of fitness and endurance all year. I can't stand Woodcroft or whatever his name is, but in crucial moments he's got McDavid out there every other shift and we can't rotate 3 lines? In the biggest game of the year? Their is absolute no excuse to putting out Lucic, Lewis and Coleman (who was terrible all night) with 3 and change left. No excuse. That better be one of the questions he has to answer tonight, but he will probably just give some snarky remark.

I don't know if he tried. He didn't seem to know that RNH was there.

Flames are capable of a comeback in this series. Time to put their foot down and start rolling.

This is true, they just need to come together.

Yup, only 2 and 3 points respectively TONIGHT. Only 11 and 13 points in four games played in this series. Those guys don't do much... except make the Flames their collective bitches game in, game out.

In over 40 years, the team has never once won a series when down 3-1 or 3-2. And with the effort level being put in, how do you bet on the Flames?
The only guys with some absolute fire are Coleman and occasionally Backlund.

Backlund playing the best hockey of his career, what a shame about the rest of the team. You just can't win with a .85 save percentage goalie and a roster seemingly hand-picked for guys that do nothing and wilt under pressure. Hard to play when your goalie gives up a goal every 5th chance the other team gets.
