Flames were 69% xGF and had the edge 5-2 in xGF. High Danger chances were 19-7.
Keep playing that way and they will be fine.
Markstrom had a stinker and they still won. A little sloppy to end the second as they were pushing too hard for offence but really they didn’t give up a lot.
Refocus and come out just as hard in game two.

Doesn't feel like a win don't feel like posting anything.
Outshot the opposition, by a lot.
Outscored the opposition by a lot.
Their best player ends as a minus.
Our thorn in their side gets a hatty and an epic troll job.
Up 1-0 in round 2.
That’s a giant ####ing win any way you slice it homie.

I've grown in the last five minutes to think it's good for us, that we were tempered in the second half. With an 8-2 I might have gone full Toronto building a parade float after 5 wins.
Still remembering when BoLevi said Gaudreau and Tkachuk sucked after game 3 against the Stars and nothing they could do for the rest of the playoffs would get the stink of being losers off them.
Not pretty, but I think there's a silver lining. They go up 1-0, yet sutter's going to be just as annoyed and challenging the team as the coach of Edmonton. Could mean that the flames don't do their typical gm2 drop off (touchwood).
When Markstrom was having trouble, the team in front of him got the goals to stay ahead and let him settle. It was a crazy one, but they got each other through it.
