Good coach, good dude. Got a bit of raw deal here with the terrible player acquisitions and vision. Spreading out the talent so you can slot better at center was a failed strategy going into the season. The centers here aren't play drivers and the RW depth on this team is laughable. Good luck to Ward, but with the Ducks being a divisional rival. I hope we kick their butts every game.

Lol, was joking with a friend a couple months back that Ward's time with Calgary was similar to Eakin's time with the Oilers, except we didn't end up with McDavid as a consolation prize.

Maybe they'll be like the Wonder Twins and need both to unlock their godly coaching.

When they won that lottery, my nephew was mad. I told him relax, McJesus not going to be able to help them, Jesus himself not able to help them. My golly, Jesus's dad not going to be able to help that team. By Jesus's dad, I ain't referring to Joseph.

Ah, yes. The unnamed Galilean man who knocked-up Mary.

Glad when I hear anyone lands on their feet, no matter who they are.
Well except maybe the oilers personnel. Screw them of course.

The Flames have not lost a game in Anaheim since 2019. I would say the curse was dead before this season.

Is it really necessary to mock people's religion in a thread about Geoff Ward?

If you think that's actively mocking, you're being a tad too sensitive.

You know he studies that #### for a living, right? Perhaps he has a truth you need to listen to.

Glad to see Ward land a spot in the NHL. He's a solid assistant coach and a solid dude as well. Glad he gets to enjoy another coaching gig somewhere warm and with less media attention all over him.

While he wasn't the right coach for this group, I never got on board with all the hate thrown at him. Frankly, this group of players as a group blows chunks and that got proven repeatedly even with Sutter as the bench boss. I firmly blame this season's suckage on the players and much less so on whatever coach we had.

Ward is moving on.
Quote:
Ducks assistant coach Geoff Ward resigned for personal reasons.

“Geoff made a personal decision to leave the club,” Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek said in a statement without disclosing the reasons for Ward’s departure. “We have an important void on the Ducks’ coaching staff to fill, which we will do diligently this summer. We wish him the best.”

I read this entire thread, thankfully there wasn't much to it, and then I get to your post and confusion ensued. He left hours after they announce his hire? I was momentarily confused until I checked the dates of posts. I had no clue that Ward was with Anaheim all this time and thought it was a new announcement that they hired him!
