Love Leah, and when saw she was doing the PBP, I decided to watch the US feed instead of Sportsnet.

Lasted about 10 minutes. It was just awful.

Not only did she have long pauses in her PBP, but whoever was providing color did nothing at all to help her. At one point, she actually said his name, in order to make it perfectly clear that she was handing the mic to him... and nothing - silence. After a few seconds, she just started talking again.

It was sad, because I am a big fan and I am rooting for her.

I like the around the league one. I don’t tend to read the internal shame one as it’s kind of the Sharknado of the former. But that’s just personal opinion.

Something that is not fun is the HF-ification of this place. The certain high school in-group garbage that makes HF the cesspool it is has found its way to CP. It is amazing that people do not see themselves becoming everything they proclaim to hate and attempt to ridicule. The evolution has been slow, but extremely painful to watch. It started with the juvenile Around the League report, but was accepted because it mined Oiler fans' salt. But that evolved into something silly and painful to see, making believe our fans were any better or different than others (we're not). The epitome of that evolution is the Wall of Shame - the taking of out of context in-the-moment comments and attempting to ridicule people for their fandom - simply because it does not comply with a certain brand of blind homerism demanded by the self-proclaimed "cool kids". Even when a lot of the comments on that "wall" are accurate for what was happening in the game at the time. What is next? Thread bans because you have the audacity to challenge the narrative established by the thread thought police, just like they do on HF Oil? This place used to be about diversity of opinion and thought. Now its devolved into a bunch of high school mean girls who think they are so fetch, when they are actually the lamest thing around. Come on CP, we're better than that. When we start eating our own - like they do at that other site - we have become what we hate most.
To be fair the Around the League report has been adopted at plenty of other sports forums as it's there on Raiders forums I frequent. The wall of shame is all CP and certainly nothing to be proud of for sure.

If you don't want to be quoted on the internet forum.....don't post all of your thoughts on the internet forum.

It's not bullying if someone literally quotes your post and deems it 'shameful.' If you're that sensitive about what people think about what you said, then why did you put it on the internet?

About 12 seconds before Backlund scored, I called him all sorts of names for turning the puck over lazily a couple of times at the Flames blueline. I did so at home, under my breath. Not on the internet.

I think the WoS is hilarious, and if I ever posted during the GT, I would almost definitely be on it!

I like Leah as well but she shouldn't be doing PBP. The product is awful and maybe it would be better with a Tony Romo style color person that injects a lot of insight and enthusiasm but that doesn't change the fact that she's just not cut out to call games.

All I learn from the wall of shame is who has time in their life for such ####tiness and I feel pity.

Wall of Shame is the best, especially since it angers guys who cannot stop themselves from posting ridiculous comments.

He has spoiler tags on it, those of you that know you are going to be in there with your embarrassing takes can simply skip the post. Something the rest of us cannot do with your posts when reading the game thread.

The comments I keep reading about mods shouldnt let it happen especially with names is hilarious. Guess what? You posted it for everyone to read. He didnt make it up.

I like the wall of shame because the GT are basically unreadable because its just people screaming negative comments into the void. Maybe it will make the GT great again.

Pro tip: You should go through your alley, pick the best garbage out of your neighbours’ black bins, and assemble it for a rummage sale. It will make your neighbourhood great again

Yeah if it has to exist at all, it should be well earned. Most of that is pretty basic stuff.

Not a fan, personally. I don’t even really go to GTs that much. I really enjoy the ATL and look forward to it each time. This, meh.

The Backlund goal was great but man, that Mangiapane goal blew the roof off the place. 20k people jumping up from their seats in unison and screaming their heads off, it was a sight to behold. After that it was on with a slew of arena chants greatest hits... GO FLAMES GO, the Oettinger jeer, LETS GO FLAMES, etc. The place vas literally vibrating!

The WOS is an interesting experiment IMO. People take hockey Fandom, the internet, themselves, the behavior of others, all way too seriously. None of this actually matters - at all. So the upside of the WOS is it shines a light on the silliness of taking things too seriously and getting worked up over something that's just supposed to be fun in the end.

Maybe next time dump the usernames and the crown of thorns and that should satisfy any concerns about bullying - see how that change is received. Otherwise I just look at it as a silly way of holding those who break with Flames fandom - even momentarily - to "account" as though they've sinned against a religion that is itself fundamentally silly.

All that to say, carry on WOS, and everybody stop acting like it's serious.

FLAMS Win!! Satan pulls through.

As far a WoS...who cares. Just don't open it and stop talking about it. I want to celebrate the flames win and not slog through pages of people's feelings.

Woooooooooo!
