For the first two periods and even a couple of winto the 3rd it was like the Flames wouldn't start pushing until they scored. Then it was as if they remembered they were the better team and were going to be fine and loosened up and started executing their game plan.

Well I guess if you start counting from when they lost game 2 to right before they won game 4 it was 4 days.

Most pbp guys you mean.
Absolutely perfect call of a game, capturing the emotion without over the top BS or theatrics.
I really can't name one better. Listening to Cuthbert for most of a full game last night for first time in a long time, he seems....just not the same...anymore.
Millen this series is a perfect compliment. Ball doesn't have to carry him like he does Cassie, nor explain and correct him like he gently does to Hrudey.
Snet should have him and Millen as an alternate feed for as long as the Flames are in it..Sportsnet Flames Channel.maybe? Because I fear we are getting Singh at worst or Cuthbert if the Leafs choke, for R2.

I think I had a post during the second intermission where I said the Flames had an awful first 40 minutes or something and would be in trouble if that continued.
Give me that spot on the Wall of Shame. GIVE IT TO ME!!!

First period was solid, defensive hockey by both teams. Second period was pretty ugly for the Flames and the third was glorious.
The biggest takeaway for me was that Toffoli is just awful out there. I'm not sure why he was playing with Johnny tonight. He looked bad enough to be in press box next game.

What a warrior Mangiapane is; he got dumped on the very first battle for the puck and just consistently pops up and gets right back into the trenches. He was treated the opposite of a blue chip prospect his whole career and has earned his way into a big stage game breaker. I hope he get signed to a long term contract this off season.

At least he kind of tried and almost scored. Chucky was even worse and was invisithornton once again tonight. Pretty concerning.

Really not sure what lines to go with for game 6 now though. Probably stay with 7D though, Stone is a help.
Thought Tanev had an incredibly rough game by his standards. He’ll be better for game 6.
|
I thought Tanev was overcriticized on a few plays where he was in a tough position. He didn’t connect on some passes but that happens. He made a bunch of great defensive plays as well. Didn’t think the goal was on him.

I think Tanev must be hurt. Just not himself. I think that’s why we’re going with 7 D

Someone from CP was sitting a row in front of me tonight - and I introduced myself. Fun moment.

Stupid Dallas even needed a dumb, fluke bounce off of Hanifin to score their only goal.
What a bunch of losers. I hate that team.

Just like the CP Theo Fleury is not reflective of the real one (and it’s an improvement).
