Shapo just eliminated Basilashvili 6-4 7-6 and will play the winner of Rafa vs. Isner in round 3.

Felix forces a 3rd and deciding set as he wins set 2 in a tie-break (7-2 was the tie-break score).
Edit: Felix breaks to start set 3.
Edit 2: terrible service game gives the break right back

Oh my, a fine forehand service return and Felix breaks again. Serving at 3-2 in set 3.
Edit: Wasn't easy, but Felix consolidates the break.

Another break for Felix and he is serving for the match at 5-2 in set 3.
Edit: Felix serves it out and wings 4-6 7-6 6-2. Great match from FAA, he really dug deep today.

So in summary, the Canadians went 3-for-3 in Rome today. The only way this day gets better is a Kings win over the Oilers tonight.

Bianca won the first 6-3 over Parrizas Diaz, but then dropped the first three games of set 2. She now is up 4-3 in set 2 playing some excellent tennis.
Edit: Of course, then Bianca is broken at love.

I heard there is some discussion from the ATP they will remove ranking points from Wimbledon this year if Russian players are not allowed to participate. Would be interesting to see how this plays out.

Bianca into round 3 following a 6-3 7-6 win. Parrizas Diaz really fought hard in set 2, but Bianca steadied her nerve and played great when it counted. Also great to avoid having to play a deciding set.

Leylah is now on court versus Kasatkina.
Edit: Leylah races out to a 3-zip lead in the opening set.

Leylah breaks to take set 1 6-4 after a marathon game. Kasatkina really raised her level after a slow start.

They should just remove Wimbledon

This is a real tussle in this 3rd set, both players feeling the pressure.
Edit: Leylah breaks and is serving at 4-3 in set 3.
Edit 2: Kasatkina breaks right back.

3rd set tie-break needed to decide this match.
Edit: Leylah fell apart in the tie-break which is a surprise as that is where she usually thrives. Kasatkina played well today and I would say that Leylah was far from her best.

Good Canadian content on Thursday:
Bianca vs. Martic
Felix vs. Giron (he upset Diego Schwartzman earlier today)
and...
Shapo vs. some guy from Spain named Rafa
