A monumental game for this franchise, Gaudreau, Tkachuk and Calgary's mental health professionals.

The only game we've won so far was the one I watched with my aunt and uncle, so I'll be taking a drive up to their place again today

If you always make the extra pass, you get fewer chances, but will score at a higher rate.

If you shoot from everywhere, you will get more chances - including more high danger chances - but you will have a lower success rate.
Bottom line is they are getting more high danger chances in each game on average though.

That's issue isn't it?

Overall shot attempts ... the Flames are at 64.1/60 minutes five on five, and 66.0/60 in all situations.

Regular season they are 63.3 five on five and 63.2 in all situations.

No real change there.

Visually I agree, they're not moving the puck as well, but it's not that they're shooting more, or getting a watered down mix of more out side shots vs high danger.

Pucks just aren't going in.

I think this has to be a decisive win as well.

If we just barely squeak out a win...doesn't look good.

I presume same lines . That said jankrok has been garbage offensively and we need goals. I wouldn’t mind ruzika in for jankrok but that would never happen.

No. That's the point.

If you get more chances, but they aren't as good chances, and as a result, you have less overall success, then no, more chances is not the issue.

Your argument is that there are more chances, so they should be getting more goals, but are unlucky.

I am saying they are getting more chances, but those chances have a significantly lower likelihood of success (which is what we are seeing)

Is there are good reason Sutter refuses to use
Magiapane-Backlund-Coleman?

A W is a W.

Whether they win 2-1 or 15-0, it will be 2 games to 2 when they drop the puck in Calgary on Wednesday.

1) they need to do something
2) Ritchie might drag Backlund and Toffoli into the fray
3) Mangiapane might be able to turn Lewis and Looch's hard work into productivity
4) The big Ls can protect Mangiapane

I'd like to see Mangiapane on the first line tbh, he's been everywhere and had a handful of chances off really bad passes/plays from his linemates, he'd probably offer a lot more finish/possession than Tkachuk has been giving us on the top unit.

Mangi on the 4th line is interesting. That line was able to hem Dallas in for long stretches in game 3. I guess he wants more speed and skill there to try and take advantage of all that zone time.

I think that the "fourth line" is going to see more action than usual, so Sutter wants an extra scoring threat on it.

Not really seeing a lot of puck distributors. But that's because the team doesn't have many.

would have liked to see Tkatchuk on with Backlund with Toffoli on top line.
take Z out and bring Stone in and let him cripple those who stand in front of his shot

Yeah, I don't get it either

Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman
Dube - Lewis - Toffoli
Looch - Jarnkrok - Ritchie

Or...

Gaudreau - Lindholm - Coleman
Mangiapane - Backlund - Tkachuk
