Top lines that can play D and produce points are pretty rare.....just look at the oilers as proof.

You can usually have 1 and not both ....but.....Darryl has taught our guys that it is possible to have both.

Oilers and Leafs both drove over the border to avoid testing requirements.

I assume Flames will do the same.

Did the American teams do the same coming up here?

I believe it is only random testing when entering Canada vs negative test required to fly into the US.

Yeah but wouldn’t they still be subject to random testing? That seems just as risky.

Unless of course there was an “understanding” that they would be selected.

Given they are non commercial flights I assume random selection is unlikely, but yeah probably not worth the risk

Doubt it. It's a hell of a long drive from Calgary to the nearest U.S. airport.

Lol. They wouldn’t drive from Calgary.

You think Edmonton drove the whole way? They flew to Vancouver and then crossed.

So… you fly from Calgary to Vancouver, drive to Seattle, get on another charter flight (separately booked and paid for) to go to your destination… and this is supposed to save time or effort how, exactly?

Sure, the Oilers did it, but we already know the Oilers are stupid. The Leafs had a short drive to the border and a sufficiently large airport right across it.

The plot thickens...

These 2 upcoming games in Dallas could be the most important games in the recent history of this organization, going back to 2015 or arguably even 2004. Have to find a way to get it done.

Not just Johnny. Every foward on the first 2 lines except Lindholm.

Nope

Just two big points. Then another two big points.

Well, turns out you can out-Sutter Sutter.

12 game 2 losses in a row, was it?

You can win battles, but he will beat you in the war.

Had that breakaway goal to start the game counted, we would have seen a different Johnny I think. He broke in with confidence and a perfectly placed shot. That looked like the Johnny we expect.

It's certainly not just a Johnny thing though. The whole team needs to drive to the dangerous areas more. Dube showed a bit of that and it stood out. More of that is needed by all.

Dallas are playing like a team that remembers how they went through a series of better, more skilled teams on their way to the finals two years ago.

The coach is willing but I'm not sure the team is able.

We'll see.

The difference is small but you can see it

He is holding the puck to make plays much less than the regular season

He needs to be more aggressive

I'm worried about the Flames ability to scores in general. Once again, it looks like they are showing that they just aren't a playoff team. One goal in two games for one of the highest scoring teams is not good.
