I keep telling them that if the Flames performed the way the Coilers have in the last decade, they would have had to relocate 7 years ago. Talk about a low bar of desperation here.
If it is something your dad would like, do it for him. Family above all else.

At the end of the day, it's just a game. Plus, if the Oilers lose, I am sure it will be very enjoyable to watch it in comfort.

Will be so satisfying if the Kings catch Smith getting cocky and overplaying the puck, especially if its early and plants that seed of doubt in him. It's been a minute, I think we're due for one of his patented whoopsies.

Old dogs and new tricks..

I really hope the Oilers have a hard fought series. But I have no energy to give this match-up.

Flames just gotta handle their own building

Go for sure man. Playoff hockey is a special beast, especially in Canada.

And then there's a high chance of debacle that you can view live. Irreplaceable.

This is a Flames forum so many won’t want to accept the supporting info, and I certainly don’t want to be defending the Oilers in here. My views aren’t based on wanting to win a popularity contest, I was merely offering my thoughts on who I feel should win is all. But then I followed with some realities of how easily the perceived favorites could be prime canon fodder.

I am not trying to win a popularity contest, I'm also offering my thoughts on who should win as well. And in terms of listening to the "insiders" "experts", Oilers has been the favorite since the beginning of the season. But when you look at their team, they have two stars and 2 goalies that are very mediocre, and they have no team game and a rookie head coach. I'm not saying that just because I hate them.

Is Darnell Nurse injured?
I thought I remember seeing that.
He may not be a #1 defenseman, but without him, that defense is unbelievably thin.

Its true but it wouldn't be the first time the Oilers were over rated by the media. This time last year the all the sites were getting geared up for Oilers/Leafs in round two. Taking away the logos and McDavid hype there really isn't much between the teams.

Edmonton had 3 more regulation wins over 82 games. Anyone paying attention knows the Oilers had a really favorable schedule with rested while opponent tired and many backups. LA only had one bad stretch this season missing like 7 or 8 guys...all but Doughty are back now.

Oilers may have won the last two head to heads but one was a SO so that is a tie...the other was a 3-2 win where LA controlled the play. (all during the Oilers "great run" and the Kings having half a team)

Smith has had a good month, what about the rest of the season and his age? Boggles my mind people are giving the Oilers the goaltending edge here.

LA also has two of the best shutdown centers in the game...this series is not a layup, trust me.

I picked the Kings cause F the Oilers but I would be willing to bet this is a 6 or 7 gamer...and when it gets there its a tossup. Oilers have all the pressure here, lets see how they handle it.

I want the Oilers not only to lose, but to lose badly.

Dramatically.

Not just humiliated, but irreparably traumatized.

I won't be satisfied until there's a McDavid trade request if I'm being perfectly honest.

I think there's some confusion in here about the difference between what "should" happen and what "could" happen. The Oilers COULD win. They SHOULD not.

the number of oiler fans "reaching out" to plan get togethers for a second round battle of alberta is unreal. i keep reminding them that emonton needs to get past la first.
i'm not sure what upsets them more... the fact that i'm predicting an la round 1 victory, or that i keep referring to them as emonton becuz they got no D! ha!

Honestly you'd think that would've happened after the last two exits, but apparently they're immune to humility.

I don't know how they just men in black their memories of how their team and star players fared in important hockey games and repeat the same tone deaf belligerence ad nauseum the next season.

They say Quick is too old. He's four years younger than Smith.

Not me, as much as I hate the team and fans, I hate McDavid more. He deserve to rot with that team till eternity.

I think he'll ask for a trade if they don't get out of the first round. It's going to be hilarious.

And two Stanley Cups. And a Conne Smythe. And has been indisputably better their entire careers.

I want them to lose so badly that McDavid will repeat Scheifele's exit interview word for word
