Eichel is supposedly hurt. Something about his hand or thumb?

He's going to be a lot better next season with a training camp and more time to get used to a new team. I'm one of those people that was happy the Flames didn't make the trade but I feel it's way too early to declare him a bust for the Knights.

Funny reading through this thread at what would have been our offer. I was all for sending Dube, a 1st and a few prospects.

Now not so much.

Big PHEW from me for not getting Eichel. Dube could be one of the most important pieces we have this spring (depth scoring), and we will need our top end prospects when we start losing guys to free agency.

Vegas on the other hand is completely boned moving forward.

Gaudreau > Eichel?
Tkachuk > Eichel?

Eichel better be a lot better since he was a 55 point player pro rated this season, in a year where scoring was way up.

I watched quite a few games with Eichel coming back. He just doesn't look the same as he did when he was a Sabre. I'm assuming that he's being tentative and trying not to reinjure his neck. He's shown flashes of how good he can be but most of the time, I just see him floating around and really being ineffective. That team prior to this season used to come at opposition in continuous waves of attack. Even with everyone returning to the lineup, they looked like any other team now. They're definitely gonna be handicapped by being too greedy. Guess we'll see what VGK will be like with Eichel and other high priced players will look like next season.

It’s too soon to judge this trade. I think Eichel and Vegas will be better next year, but I feel like some of the magic is gone due to the choices they’ve made and they won’t return to the level they were at.

This is not the year to be judging Eichel.
Tuch was also coming back from surgery, and Krebs is a young player with plenty of upside. Eichel has room to improve on this year, but so have they.

Healthy Eichel and Stone together next season could both go bacj to being point per game + players and lead Vegas back to division title contention. I hope not obviously but it wouldn't surprise me.

Glad it didn't work this year though.

There’s been talk among insiders since before the the neck thing that Eichel isn’t a leader or a guy who rises to the occasion when the going gets tough.

I was relieved he didn’t wind up in Calgary.

Eichel will have to be a 100 point player for Vegas to even have a chance at "winning" this trade IMO

Tuch, Krebs, picks, and the 10M hit and what they lose because of it

pretty hard to see how this isn't a net loss

Eichel has a career high of 82 points before the broken neck

Anyone have the clip from yesterday where they show Eichel's reaction when Amadio failed to score on the last shootout attempt?

You can see that exact heartbreak moment when he knew he's not going to the playoffs.

Vegas tasted success too early, and instead of building a solid team that can contend for years, they go and trade all their young assets and draft picks to chase overpriced free agents. They are trending to become the next San Jose Sharks, a team with a bunch of overpaid over the hill players that will be in cap hell and have nothing left in their farm.

To be fair, I still think Eichel is an awesome player. I just find it funny how all this stuff comes out now.

The Knights have two first rounders in their organization, and don't have a 1st round pick this year.

2017 #6 Glass - traded
2017 #13 Suzuki - traded
2017 #15 - Brannstrom - traded
2018 no pick
2019 #17 Krebs - traded

2020 #29 Brendan Brisson
2021 #30 Zachary Dean

That's it. That's the list
