Alright I’ll say it…..I didn’t hear Johnny say “I want to be here” when he was asked about contract stuff during the After Hours interview and it raised my eyebrows a bit.
He went on at length about how much he loves Calgary though.

Definitely not a reassuring interview! But whatever, he’s given this team everything he has needed to. Doesn’t owe the team or the city anything if he does move on.
Sure friggin hope he can sign back on though

Agreed, these questions are always useless. As well, what a player says in any interview(even if positive) is completely meaningless when it comes to whether or not they like the city or hope to re-sign.
Note, I hope the Flames do move heaven and earth to keep him.

I mean, I don't know how you can be worried just because he didn't say one specific line you were hoping for.
His dad is here playing hockey with random fans around the city. His family and friends are incredibly active and positive on twitter regarding Calgary. He and everyone he knows say he loves the city.
He can't spill everything in an interview like this. He still has to negotiate a contract.

Yea, I think some of you guys are reading way too much into his answers. Did you miss the part where he talked about how much he and his wife and family loves it here?
As mentioned above, the question shouldn't have been asked in the first place, and I liked Johnny's answer about leaving that stuff up to Tre and his agent to deal with. Dude rightfully just wants to concentrate on hockey and doesn't want the contract thing to be a distraction.
